Questions about an 04 w/20,000m?
I'll try to be quick and to the point. I've owned a 91 RX-7, so I know a little about the rotary engine, and I've been surfing around the board for a little while and found a bunch of great info(excellent site by the way!). I love the RX-8 but am limited on funds and have a trade-in. The best I can do right now is one that I found with 20,000 miles on the clock, 6MT base with no options. Just want a little advice from owners...
I am just worried how the engine might be if the person who had it before did not understand the engine or did not follow proper maintenance. I am super obsessive/compulsive about my cars around everything, making sure never to abuse the car, while still driving in a performance oriented way. The person before certainly did a lot of driving in a year (of course my current 04 has 23,000 miles). Just want to know if there are any specific reasons not to buy an 04 with 20,000 miles on it. I need to/want to keep this car for a number of years (maybe 5+) and need it to run well. The dealer said that it was a one owner who traded it in for a new 350Z. I have not seen it or driven it yet because it is snowing out where I live(MA). Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Is it certified pre-owned? I just bought a CPO 04 RX8 with 19k miles. If it is CPO, they kick another 12 months, 12k miles onto the warranty.
You can also ask for a CarFax report on the vehicle to see who had it and such. Call the guy that owned it if you like.
Oh, also, I opted to buy the extended warranty. Yes, you can do that on a CPO vehicle. I am covered until Aug 2008 or 100,000 miles.
