I think we may have seen the bottom of the RX8 market.
The BAT auction prices appear to have stabilized after the pandemic used car frenzy.

I've been watching the site myself for the past 3 months while shopping. I think you're 100% right here. BAT's 8 graph proves this. What's interesting too is we are way ahead of schedule for end of march with how many 8's have been posted already - lots with low mileage too. Perhaps the garage hoarders are coming out now since its the 20 year anniversary of buying a decoration.
Great time to pick up a minty at a good price. You might have to take a yellow though.

If you're still looking, be patient. BAT has been hosting some serious finds and AutoTempest search results have been very good at picking up hard to find private sales. Don't forget its 70$ to rent a rotary compression tester for a week on ebay and send it postage-paid to your seller.

I wouldn't bid $2600 unless it passed a compression test.

I haven't been following lately.
There was a 5 owner 40th sold last week.
29 bids, 300 watchers.

Cajun, I just last month picked up my second RX8 after I sold my first in 2019. Found a 1 owner red 2006 GT with all packages minus nav having 11.5K miles.
I was a younger and broker man when I had my first 8, so I just completed a full ignition upgrade with BHR and S2 starter. This one should zoom for a long time.
I paid 21 for the car, which has been in a showroom since ~2018. I think we'd all agree it's a bit steep, but the car had an immaculate detail done by the showroom, an underbody coating, and all damaged plastics replaced. Compression was 8.2/8.2/7.8.
I don't think there are many of these left, so I'm still happy with paying 12K less than MSRP for a fully loaded car from 2006 in new condition (not even accounting inflation). There wasn't much I could do about the showroom price - they are a showroom.
TLDR; There are still amazing barn finds appearing in the corners of the internet for the RX8, and generally deals out there in all price ranges. I hope some other users on here can find their dream smiles per gallon again like I did if they have lost theirs along the way.

It sounds awesome.
I felt the same way when I bought my '04 in 2012.
It was pristine as well with only 18K and was a garage queen 1 owner weekend driver.
I've bought 3, and I paid too much for all 3.
It's worth whatever you paid for it, as mine were to me.
