Refused test drive at Stealership - North Park Mazda SA

So I drive all the way into town from an hour away to North Park Mazda in San Antonio. I Sold my 84 GS a few months ago and want to get an RX8. I also owned a 95 Mazda pickup. All from Red McCombs Mazda (out of biz now). Anyway I got first class sales and service with Red McCombs.

I just wanted to test drive an 05 they had. The sales person greets and we walk around and I stopped and got inside a sweet 09 used. Then he said the 05 was sold. So I said well I would like to test drive an RX8 since I had not driven one. He then refused to let me drive the 09 cause I said I wanted a series one just a few mins ago. So I guess customer can't change mind or try a car. My credit is great I have a military credit union. My house is almost paid off. I drive there in my corvette.

Anyway... this Stealership get's Zero Jalapeno's and made Mazda look bad today. Im a little mad. I guess if you don't have a suit or a new car they think your poor trash? Or he wanted to go back inside with the other sales people standing around with no other customers.

North Park Mazda. You Fail...

Yeah. Some salesmen are just dicks. Just flip them a bird on the way out.

Sorry vash, but if you need a local sales guy let us know. North park is one of the better dealerships around but as far as service but the salesman are idiots.

Personally I bought my car at IPAQ and the experience was great but their service sucks. Quite a few of the local SARX members have bought their cars from North Park without issue so I think you just got an idiot for a salesman. I did buy our company van (MPV) from North park but I paid cash so the process was simple and easy. What was the guys name?

If your wanting a slightly used RX-8 then a private sale will save you a ton of money. One of out local members got his slightly used 08' 4oth anniversary edition for dirt cheap.

My friend is a salesman at Red Mcombs Toyota and he has gotten many sale because the other sales guys judged a book by its cover. But i guess that is why they make 20k a year and he makes 80k a year,

That was the problem.

some people are just not built for sales... i'm sure if you go back there you might find that sales guy has "left to pursue other opportunities"

That's when I would have turned around in the showroom, loudly announced to anyone within earshot "I am here to buy a car with cash today and this salesman doesn't want to allow me a test drive...is there any salesman here who wants commission from my purchase today?".

Seriously, what have you got to lose?

Eh don't give up.. I went to the stealership and they thought i wasnt serious about buying an RX8. The kept trying to sell me a mazda 3.. wtf? I said clearly I wanted an rx8 and they said "Im not ready for a sports car, the mazda 3 is more practical"

Took my business else where. Puente hills mazda. Sounds bad, but the elder lady there was really awesome. Funny as hell, she used to own an rx8 also, and let me test drove one as much as I wanted too. Got a great deal too and she made the whole experience perfect.
