in search of one in O.C.
Great site...please post your comments and feedback and help me make up my mind: 350Z or R8-8?
Also, I can't seem to get straight answer from dealers around me.
I'm in search of a new 04 RX8 with exactly the following options. I doubt any one would have one in stock since I have been
searching for a while.
Red with black and red interior
Grand touring,
In dash 6 CD,
rear wing spoiler,
appearance package,
rotary accent package,
navigation
Come on people, I need my prescription RX-8...soon!

Do a search, the RX-8 vs. Z thing has been done far too many times already. Besides, what do you think people on an RX-8 site are going to say... As for finding an RX-8 you want, get in touch with a fleet manager, he will be able to help you out.

I've been a life long Z fan. I had a '77 280z back in the 80's and have always regreted selling it (needed money to buy first home). Ever since I've always sworn I would eventually buy another Z, NEW!
When the 350Z came out I was quite excited. Alas, when I found myself in the position of finally buying a car that was fun and that I truly wanted, I test drove a Z. I was disapointed in the way it rode and I'm getting tired of Nissan's cheap interiors (I've owned Nissans since 86).
On a whim, I test drove the 8. Not only was I impressed with the ride compared to the Z, I was thrilled with the back seats of the 8, as I have two sons. (also easier to justify to the wife).
I have now had my 8 for two weeks. I truly love the car, and have no regrets in this choice. It should be noted I was once an anti- RX-7 fan, just because of my love for the Z. (It seems at one time you couldn't like both cars)
Anyway, I hope my ranting has helped. Good luck.
BTW, check Mazda's web site, they can point you to the dealer that has the car with options that you want, that's how I found exactly what I wanted.

dude, i dont know where your from but its not all that easy to find an 8 with all the options of your choice. i know cause im in the market too, and i've found just one about 60 miles from where i live... so, im planning on sacrificing the navi in order to get the most of what i wanted from a local dealer where its easy to visit and deal. good luck!

damn those dealers, who gives three @#$*...so what if they made no money on this deal, they'll make plenty in the next 100... I had them fighting over the deal. I was at the right place, right time, the car hit the lot from the truck and a previous order was cancelled. I am not much of a negotiator but, guess what, until you sign the dotted line, you can always negotiate with your feet instead of your mouth...WALK AWAY!
I checked most numbers here and for most part, those who waited, gained the most, or I should say paid less and got a better deal...others ,well...remember the VW bug craze...this was no different...
