SF Bay Area RX-8 Pricing
I have been to 2 dealerships in the SF Bay Area. Neither of these guys wanted to go under invoice on the RX-8 I like. I have been reading threads about buyers get 1k-5k below invoice. What is the deal with Bay Area sales guys letting me walk off the lot? I even have S-PLAN pricing available to me, but thats only $50 below invoice.
I'm looking for a loaded (GT/NAV/6 DISK/SPOILER...etc)Green 6 Speed RX-8 and the only one that Fremont Mazda was able to find was in Oregon....yikes! They wanted to sell that one to me for invoice 32,275 (S-PLAN) + 500 for shipping . Need less to say I walked.
Any referrals from the Bay Area would be great if you know of a good dealership.

I haven't seen $5K below invoice on this group. I think that would shatter the record. Someone claimed $5K below MSRP is available in S. CA. Still an incredible deal. I think $2K below invoice is possible, $1K below invoice should be your bottom line.
A $500 delivery charge from Oregon doesn't sound out of the question. CarsDirect.com found a car for me in Long Beach that could be delivered to San Jose for $200. Figure Oregon is about 3 times farther away.
The dealers I talked with (Oakland and Oak Tree in San Jose) seemed a lot more interested in making deals on existing inventory rather than a car sitting on another dealer's lot. Maybe that's why they're letting you walk. You can check dealer inventory yourself at mazdausa.com.
On the 04, you can probably get a better deal if you're flexible on color, package, and options. At this point, you're picking from the leftovers.
Good luck. Don't give up! Now's a great time to buy an 04.

I got mine 2k below invoice very recently in the Bay Area. Some dealers are willing to deal.
But you may not be able to get the exact car you want. Check your PM.

Weege, which 2 dealers are u going to?
Oak Tree and Almaden Mazda are the same dealership. THey bought and closed Sunnyvale Mazda so in the south bay the pretty much have a monopoly.
U should consider SO cal for better prices.
