Should i still be valid?

Ok, I payed for the 8 on August 31, and it arrived September 12th for pickup. Found out on these forums about the "recall", and from what I hear the cut off date was somewhere around August 21. HOWEVER! I looked at ALL the paperwork that I signed, and from what I am told, the delearships are supposed to make it aware and put it in writing I know the HP was lower than first ratings. Never was it mentioned verbally either, even though the entire time i was signing papers I was looking specifically for a sentance or phrase about the lack of HP. Didn't even mention it to the dealer after we closed the deal; I'd rather take it up with mazda as a corporate than the delearship (The delearship was a little fuzzy - didn't even want to put a 60 dollar alarm upgrade that i bought and wasn't on the car - to be put on when the appearance package comes in - I mean come on, it's a 60 dollar part and they didn't want to put it in writing that I hadn't got it!?).

Either way, I want some feedback:

Should I still qualify?

Thanks all!

Well, what did you know/see/read about the RX-8 horsepower while you were in negotiations?

check your window sticker. if it says 238 hp, then i think you are SOL.

Yes, that is the changed hp, and I don't think it will matter whether or not your were "informed". The way they will probably see it is that you saw the window sticker, and knew what you were buying. I do hope that I am wrong, though. Good luck.

did you have any kind of deposit on the car before the 26th? if so then you should get teh maitenaince etc. but if you didn't put any money down until after and the sticker of the car had the restated HP then you are probably out of luck, since you didn't bring it up at the time of sale. btw, did you mean to say that you paid in full for the car 2 weeks before it arrived?
