Standard 05 leftover discount?

I'm in the process of buying a leftover new 05 sport package with aero and maybe navi in TX. I checked freeman in Irving and they have 1 silver sport with apperance but they messed up not R&R'ing their cars 2 weeks ago so they lost 2K mazda bonus cash therefore they can't do the deal I want at 23K out the door.

I'm wondering if there's a standard discount that mazda gives every dealership on leftover 05's. Some dealers websites stated as high as 7500 off leftover 05's some have no info. Can I expect to get at least 7000 off any 05 leftover RX8 in America?

I got my RX8 from Freeman Mazda back in October of 05. I dont know if I got a "great" deal but I got an 05 Black RX8 with the GT package, appearance package, cargo net, all leather black seats for 28 and some change. It only had 4 miles on it too

I've been very pleased with Freeman Mazda too... highly reccommend them!

Yeah their fleet manager Brian is a stand up guy. I walked in and he didn't hassle me, just asked me what I was looking for and went to see what he could do with the price. Unfortunately the dealership screwed themselves out of the 2K extra bonus cash so that kind of ruined the deal for me.

I am calling on 8 other cars throughout Texas. 1 in abilene, 4 in san antonio, 1 in dallas, 2 in houston. Do you think the majority of them will be able to do 7000-8000 off MSRP, basically my question is this. Does Mazda corporate dictate that everyone gets the same rebates or do some dealership take additional discounts off on top of the Mazda ones?

Basically I think out of 5 dealership i'm checking out at least 3-4 will be able to do 22.5-23.5 out the door for a car I want.

You can call MazdaUSA for rebates for all Dealers in your area. In IL it is $3000 plus $1000 MAC. This should be off Invoice. For a GT this would be about $2000 off MSRP. So $6000 off should be normal. A Dealer here says he has a special discount from Mazda due to buying some of the last 05's

How would 4000 off INVOICE end up being a smaller dollar figure than MSRP. 4000 off invoice should be like 5000-6000 off MSRP. I've heard of people getting 8000-9500 off MSRP but I'm not sure where or if that's common.

So far I've called one dealer on a leftover 05 with appearance, sport and rear wing and they want 23.9+tax which is way too high.

IIRC, several of the 7-8k off MSRP deals were associated with an extra 1k "motor show" money, since the shows were in town around the end of Feb / early March. Also there was the 1000 MAC financing plus 1500 dealer cash to throw in. All of these may not be available any longer.

I think 24k plus TTL is still a pretty damn good price (for a GT), especially when it would cost you significantly more to get behind the wheel of an 06. For a sport or base 05 (not that there are many left?) I would think somewhere in the 22k range should be a good deal.

I agree 22 OTD is good for a sport which is what I'm looking for. I was hoping for a sport with appearance, and maybe rotary accent and homelink mirror for about 22.5-23.5 OTD depending on actual options and the car.

I'd love to get into a whitewater pearl with appearance and sport

More than beer in Milwaukee

I picked up my new '05 Sport MT for $21,400 OTD. Only 9 miles on the odo. I used the Mazda rebate, MAC cash, Auto show bucks (last month), and some wheelin' over the phone...No test drive or personal dealings. I had to rent a car from my home in Indianapolis to Milwaukee to pick up the car, but it was worth the hassle. In case you are wondering, I purchased the car in Milwaukee because that is where the auto show was at that time. VERY HAPPY! I still can't believe what a great ride it is.

Do you know if those 2 white ones at El Dorado are sport? I can't fit in a touring or GT because of the sunroof.
