Totaled my 8 continued

Basically this is just an update of my previous post " Totaled my 8 please help." I won't go into too many details but, basically I had a black 2004 RX8 with the GT red/black leather package, rotary accents, tinted windows and chrome mazda wheels. I also had 20000 miles on the car.

My settlement came out to 25980 with USAA. I'm still debating whether I got a good estimate or not. Let me know what you guys think.

That's good to know. USAA is a good company. They not only have my insurance, they have the note on my car also and they throw in Gap insurance at no cost. Just hope I don't need to use it . Really sorry about your loss but the way they're discounting '04's, maybe you can pick up a brand new one. Good luck

26k is about right to get a brand new GT rx-8.

invoice is about 28,000, subtract around 3500 for the available rebates... you can even buy new chrome rims.

Really....thats how much it costs for a new gt in the us now? Thats awesome cause I'm looking to get the same exact car I had. Its already a bit more difficult now that I'm stationed in Germany but, a friend of mine in florida ,a?o military, will ship the car to me. He has done this kind of thing before so I'm not worried about that but, I'd have to add about $1000 t0 $1200 for shipping.

So is this price for real? Since I'm an Oregon resident I wouldn't have to pay the taxes anyway. So 26k or 26500 out the door sounds like one hell of a deal. Are there rebates too?

I was recently quoted on a Winning Blue RX-8 with touring package, navigation system, and rear spoiler for $25,920 so I think a new GT wouldn't be out of the question. Looks like you got a pretty good settlement from your insurance company

P.S. I live in Portland by the way! Aufwiederzen my fellow Oregon freund! (Ich spreche Deutsch am bischen.)

Wow thats awesome. Now I just have to try and find a place that has the car I'm looking for. Preferably in the gulf coast are or Austin area. I own a house in the panhandle so that would give me a reason to visit that area and my mom lives in Austin. Do you think dealerships are willing to deal via phone or email? I've never done this before so any advice would be appreciated.

I guess I should expect my premium to go up as well huh? My driving record was clean prior to this accident.

You'll often get better deals by email - just use edmunds or mazda's site and fill out an online request-for-quote

Wow - that's great. USAA is my insurer as well, though leasing through US Bank. I need to call about Gap insurance ... not sure if I have it.

I also have USAA and I have always felt that they were great but other than replacing my wife's windshield I haven't needed to make a claim. Good to know that they treated you well. Also would like to add my good luck to getting your car I hope it all works out. Glad to hear you were treated well.

I also totaled my car. Titanium GT fully loaded. After the wreck the insurance company said it was worth $31,000

I ended up getting my loan paid off and $5k back.

Hasg...
How did you get that much back? What is fully loaded though. I just had the black with the gt package. The only other things I had were the Mazda Chrome wheels...which back last November....were $750 each and, tinted windows. I also had 20000miles as well. Should I have gotten more?

I'm not sure how I got that much back. My insurance company was Geico. Fully Loaded meaning all the options(leather, nav, 6speed manual, appearance package, etc..). The last oil change I got they forgot to put a new sticker on the window and thats what geico went by. They thought the car had 9000 miles on it when really it was more like 15000.
