used car question

here's a situation:

First off, I have never been to a dealer to purchase a car yet so input would be gravy.

I saw a used 6sd rx8 with touring package and little over a thousand miles. The pice the dealer listed was 28k. So what do you do in this situation? just say: blow me, ill give you 24k?

what would you offer? and what would you offer for a used high priced base 6spd (ie. 26k used)?

thanks in advance, cheers.

Can't tell you what exact # to offer, but lower is always better. Don't worry about offering too low, believe me they will let you know and you can always work up.
To tell you the truth, it seems like the with the deals (below invoice) many people have been getting lately, you might be better off going that route. You won't have to worry about some dealer or jerk running the **** out of a car that has not been broken in properly. Good luck in your search

First off, find out what the dealer invoice is on that car. Figure the dealer is making another grand or so on top of that.

So take the dealer invoice, subtract at least $3,000 and that should be the most you should pay for it.

At least, that is what I'd be doing if looking to buy used.
