Vin # revisited
Hi All,
I bought my 8 today, bad news is they have to bring it in from another dealer 50 miles away. It had everthing on it I wanted and I am happy with the dealer and how things went, and the fact they gave me a loaner 8 to drive until Monday. I am have a blast driving this car! Feel like a kid again <G>
My concern, after looking at the paperwork tonight, the vin# on this car is 104903. That is a pretty low number compared to most I have seen on the inventory lists. The car is currently in the dealer show room and is not suppose to have any miles. But after looking at some of the threads concerning mgp, vin, and date of mfg, it appears that this car was made around June 3rd. And it of course falls into some of the TSB listed.
Should I be concerned becasue it has sat around for 5 months? Should I ask them to go ahead and do the oil pan before I accept it? What about the other things, ECU, AC, *****,etc?? Should I tell them to find a vin# up in the 110000+ ?
Am I just being way to paranoid? ****???
Thanks for any opinions,
Dean

Hi Again,
I wanted to bump this up and see if I can get any respnses. I am going out today and checking the dealer lot for his new shippment that came in yesterday and seeing what some of the #'s are.
I have seen a few others which have taken recent deliveries with the lower #. Am I being just overly concerned? What you you do?
Thanks

Yes, you're probably being overly concerned, as few people have had any problems whatsoever, and there doesn't really seem to be a connection to VINs (my personal opinion after viewing the multiple charts. etc, people tried to make) and problems , But do what you think is best for you.
