I'm almost positive you could get a better deal than that on an 06 with 12K miles on it already.

I bought mine brand new for $25.7K and didn't even have to wrestle the price once. GT, 6sp, spoiler, all options cept nav and appearance.

I'd say look a littlr harder and twist some arms and you'll be lookin at around $24-25K for a brand new one!

Dealers know these aren't flying off the lots...they'll sell um like so.

Thanks for the response, I actually tried offering that for a new '06, but the dealer thought I was crazy! They were going to offer me $27.3 before TT&L and it didn't have the appearance package. For an '06? I don't think so.

One dealer did tell me that $26.5k out the door was reasonable for an '06, but he didn't have any in stock.

I saw an ad in the newspape for a dealership that has been offer a $5k dealer discount on top of the $3k rebates that mazda offers I was thinking that isnt too bad of a deal on an 06 but i am thinking of playing around with other dealers to see if they are willing to give me that discount.

sounds a lot like the price i paid for mine! Let that dealer chew on that 8 for another 1/2 year and then go back again...lol.

That's apparently why i walked away with mine so cheap. The dealer told me that they let it go for almost $7K under invoice because it was a rainy day and they hadn't sold any cars. haha..that sales pitch really was a stupid one.

We all clearly knew that they had been sitting on this 8 for over 7 months on the lot. Kickbacks almost become non-existant by that time.

Good freaking gosh...that sounds too funny hearing a sticker of almost $40K for an RX8.

I mean, i love the 8 just as much as the next rotorhead...but that is truly getting a little ridiculous.

Good find and final price though, bro!

Helpful additional information-Been looking for a while for this particular car with color, options, trim. Was actually going to buy it from an individual seller in Indiana and decided to go with this instead.

How you did it: Saw it online and drove down and picked it up
Comments: Owned by a medical student who traded it in for a Lexus, and now I'm happy.

Here are my numbers:
06 Shinka purchased Oct 06. $26,000 even. (plus tax of course). New purchase, but had 100 miles, I guess it had been tested often, but not purchased. I thought it was a good deal, sticker was $33.6K or so.

Final Price: $24989.03 including taxes and fees
Model Year: '06
Model (AT/MT): MT
Options: fog lights
Date of purchase (month/year): 2/07
Location (city/state): Bountiful, UT
Interest Rate: 8.8% from MAC, but will refinance with on first payment
New/Used: New

I was told I had to make 4 payments on MAC so I could keep the rebate, but I can't find that anywhere in the paperwork. MAC actually says there is no penalty for paying off early at anytime. So I'm not going to pay 8.8% interest, my payments are going to drop about $50 a month.

On my MPV I paid my MAC all off on the first payment with a Capital One blank check, they even got me a new car interest rate (not a refi rate). The dealer gets spiffs for keeping you on. Plus you already got the rebate in your purchase price, it's not like they mail you anything. You signed over the right to it to the dealer.

I'm surprised to see such high interest rates in US. Here in Canada, the rates hover from 0% for 24mths to 3.9% for 60 mth. This is financing with Mazda.

Fuel4, the dealer was Todey in Oxnard. I financed 100% of the car so that the dealer would get a bigger kickback from MAC, and get a bigger discount on the car itself.

Delhi, there are Mazda rebates for financing through MAC in the states. I agree that without incentives, 10%+ is not competitive.

Want to purchas.e soon but can wait

Can someone please tell me, if this is a good month yet to purchase a new 06 Rx8 with $7000-$9000 off MSRP? Or should I wait later in the year?
I am eager to get mine soon but I am willing to wait.

Smile New 2006

Final Price:21,295
MSRP 28,355
Model Year:2006 (Fire engine red)
Model (AT/MT): MT
Options: M/T handling package (Fog lamps, DSC, limited slip, etc.)
Date of purchase (month/year): 02/07
Location (city/state): Savannah, Ga
Financed/Cash purchase: 16K down, financed balance.
Interest rate (if relevant): thru MAC 8.99% (will refinance to get better rate soon.)
New/Used: New 120 miles

How: Got 3,000 rebate for new '06 model. Got 1,000 for financing thru MAC. Got the dealer to drop a couple more G's due to this car sitting there for close to 2 years and the 2008's are right around the corner.

Note to Apita: Better to go for it now. The rebate deal I got ended Feb 28th. Not to say they won't make an even better deal for March, but who knows...

If you wait the selection will only get thinner. Prices may drop a tiny bit more, but if you find the car you want you should do it. It might even be better to do it now since winter can be really slow for dealers.

Use the Mazda inventory search on their website to find out what's on lots near you. If there aren't many that fit your specs def buy now.

Moving out of a Mazda 6 wagon (great car if you're into wagons) into a Titanium grey 04 Grand touring MT. Wonderful shape with 31K on the odo for $16.5k with 4 new Toyo Proxys. Best deal I could find. Even with the discounts, an 06 Grand Touring was too rich for my budget. I've had alot of sports cars, the RX8 is a blast. Mazda should have lines of people waiting for these things. Best kept secret in sportscardom.
