Our dealers here are advertising the "Base" model (automatic with no options) for $19,999 for the lease special.

Nice, but I would not take an automatic even if it was $10K Sports cars are worthless with auto. Well, at least I cannot enjoy them with an auto box. Well, OK, I'd TAKE an auto for $10K, but Id wish for a manual every time I drove it! I'll bet you cannot get a stick for $21K the autos must be hard to sell. But see, new is cheaper than used.

Well, if you could find a base 6spd you could get it for $22k...because it's $1500 more than a base auto. But, I haven't seen a 6spd without any options...

So if anyone thinks this is reasonable, I'll sell my 2004 6-speed GT Velocity Red with spare tire kit and polished rotors for $25,750. 3,340 miles. No misprint. Looks better than new, due to all the work I put into the wax jobs on it. All service performed (M flash, etc.) and four oil changes since new. Car is in central CT.

Is that fair??

You should have no problem selling it at that price....

Why so many oil changes though?

Hey Shahram72,

You can probably take mine off of my hands at the end of my lease in 2 years. It is a base model 6 speed in Nordic green.I wanted the base model just because it was the cheapest, and it was the most performance oriented of them all, plus it has all the things I care about.I love it and may keep it at the end of the lease(it's too early to guess what i will do after only 3 weeks and 1000 miles).I only leased it because of the sweet deals they were giving on the leases.I have never done that before(lease that is),and I made sure I didn't put any more down than what was needed aside form paying the acquisition fee instead of rolling it into the lease. All I payed was 1st,security,acq fee,and plate fees.I think I got a sweet deal for a $27000 car at $300 a month tax included.Good luck in your search I can almost guarantee you will be able to get one cheaper in the near future. All though I think the owners here hope not because then it means the car has lost it's value.

I just bought a used 8 from my local dealer 3 weeks ago. Its velocity red AT, with GT pkg. Had 5200 miles on it and I paid $24,000. I thought that was pretty reasonable.

Now were talkin! My second least favorite color though, but only because it's dark, it'a a beautiful color and really catches the sun! Just ages like black, almost. Anyway, this is obviously a long way off, but just to guage what the market will be, what is your residual on your lease and I assume the car will have 24,000 miles in 2 years, due to lease restrictions, am I right?

the residual is $17680 after 2 years and no more than 24k miles.I checked the buyout yesterday, and it is $20k and change. Not bad for a 3 week old car with a $27200 window sticker. In my opinion the base 6 speed is the best bang for the buck, but then again I have been called wierd before.I really wanted the Ti grey, but found this green one at a local dealer, and they made me an offer I could not refuse.I love the color choice though. It is hard to keep clean but it looks great in the sun.Plus it may be one of the more rare colors in a few years.

Well it looks like my best option is to post when I'm ready and look for an off-lease one. Maybe a fellow forum member will let me buy it for residual(plus a few hundred for the trouble, depending on the residual value) instead of letting the dealer just take it back. I really cannot justify the cost of a new one for driving one day per week, well maybe two.
