So jealous of the lift So with the exhaust exiting like that do you anticipate any issues from flames and heat?

Edit: just realized your tank isn't there

Don't you mean that people go out of their way to always exaggerate me to the negative?

Having dumped NA under the RX8 chassis the comment is experiece based. Besides, I only said that dumping under the car is no good, and that was without flames too. I'm not sure why you are attempting to warp it into meaning anything different than that? If you make a pipe out the back then why not just leave it that way? I don't know how to put a positive spin on you not making sense on multiple levels, sorry ...

NA exhust dump under the chassis is quite different then using a turbo TeamRX8, if you think they are the same sounds and effect unfortunately you make no sense On multiple levels.

I fully understand the exhaust sound differences between NA and turbo.

You will suck a lot of fumes into the cabin with the exhaust 1/2 way back like that...I think that was the point

Not just fumes, but massive amounts of superheated thermal mass

Why don't you impress us with your reasoning not to have 2 - 3 more feet of 4" exhaust tubing ...

But before this thread sails off in completely in the wrong direction, my not agreeing with dumping the exhaust under the car is not a criticism of the car itself or the effort and work that's gone into it. I've done plenty of things myself and then later came to the conclusion it wasn't the best thing to do i.e. dumping the exhaust there in about the same position was one of them. You don't have to agree and maybe your experience will turn out better than mine. I had additional concern with your engine capable of pushing out 2x more exhaust volume than mine is all. It seems like it will all just go out the back of the car, but in reality it won't. Also, I don't live in the great white north either.

team, I am about to cut mine short behind the differential as well... It's impossible to get 4" tubing around the rear diff housing without having it hung a couple inches below the housing. It looks little tacky and scrapes alot in the parking lots. What problems were you having? I can see how it can be a problem while idling, but I thought sealing up the car with some dynamat at the tack welded creases would eliminate exhaust leak into the cabin.

It's fun to think about cutting it short and making the rear diffuser start at the exhaust piping so you have high speed gas going right under the diffuser. This would technically create some downforce, but it's just one of those thing that's fun to think about but is painful to execute. F1 did it until it became outlawed, but they also had specialized tuning to maximize airflow even when the engine is not under load.

if you look in the trunk you will see the big vents...they are not supposed to be pulling in exhaust....which is what happens when you add the volume of hot air you are dumping under there

There are many rubber and plastic parts in the general vicinity that aren't designed for those temperatures. An RX8 is not remotely close to being a mega-million dollar F1 race car. Based on my own 3" piping job, 4" is a tight fit but no problem for someone that knows what they're doing ...

but that's my last word on it. Car is looking good and I wish you the best as always.

Considering my own full interior RX8 is low 269x lbs without driver it seemed like a sincere question. If you want me to be ingnored then calling attention to me for no good reason when you could have really just ignored me seems rather contrary. I don't see how these kind of replies accomplish serving this thread in any uesful way other than to demonstrate a juvenile mentality about yourself

Just for you firecran.

I Installed a brand new Low profile, High Capacity oil pan from Rx8performance, to match my rx8performance engine mount. This thing did the trick, My car no longer looks lick it has a beer gut. The oil pan is now above the cross-member. No more scrapping of oil pan! and its High Capacity!

Gotta love some REW!

Good stuff for 19psi and you have plenty room to grow with that turbo.
The 8's rear is your next weak point and if you slap some sticky tires on it'll be game over for it.
Angel is using a 8.8 from a cobra.
