I think I am just going to fab something up to support the tail housing of the transmission where the PPF mounts to the transmission. I'm not doing a V8 swap, but with our power goals, I am a little worried about drive train rotation utilizing just two motor mounts. We did use the 85a bushings from innovative and they are pretty stiff.
Some of their stuff is way overbuilt, but maybe not if you’re cranking out 700 hp, but then the actual designs seem questionable - lol. I don’t like the PPF support deal at all.
Andrew at Keisler Automation will sell you the trans and diff nose mounts they make for their LFX conversion to eliminate the PPF if you want to go that route, but you’ll need to make the necessary adapters between them and the trans tail and diff nose mounts unless you do the Camaro diff swap. It’s like $250-$260 for each.
I especially like how he did the diff nose mount with the bracket that attaches to the front of the rear subframe. The trans brace is also well thought out; stiff, but light. I’m impressed with his work and responses to me. I don’t say that about too many other specialty aftermarket suppliers.
They also have a heavy-duty EPS power harness for $60 that is a direct RX8 bolt-on to replace the factory EPS power harness.
One of my friends is running this. He said it makes the motor sit a bit higher than normal. He likes the whole kit so far and actually is almost about to finish his swap.
seems unlikely based on the pic below, but they’d probably need to confirm
One of the things I don’t like about their kit is the oil pan sticking down about 3/4” below the subframe/bracing just begging something to punch a hole in it, or worse.
Well I just bought a new REW block from Mazda and I am buying this kit along with the adaptronic. Finally making it happen.
I was thinking use the banzai mount, then use the rest of this kit, but there is a chance not everything will work like the manifolds syncing up.
I will be going with a Borg Warner turbo and a Turbosmart WG. I’ll ask Lucky 7 to document it as they go, and I will take pictures when I can. I wanted to do this myself, but I’m moving out of state at the same time so...
