when i repaired the turbo last year, i noticed a crack in the hks manifold(like they all do) and i had a few exhaust leaks.
i saw the artec manifold a while ago and i was pretty sure it would fit my car since it looks alot like the hks shape wise so i took a chance and bought one.
i wanted better response than my old setup so while i was in there i bought a new psr 6262g (g35-900) after talking with teamrx8 about sizing.
my local fab guy redid the downpipe with a screamer pipe instead of recirc
I noticed smoke was coming from my turbo oil feed line when i would turn off the car, checked the fittings and everything seemed fine. I then checked the heat sleeve and it was covered in oil. Found the an oil feed line was leaking from the hose after pressurising it with nitrogen (#hvaclife), see picture.
ordered the parts to get it fixed. After going thru the instal manual of the psr turbo, they mention the oil pressure before turbo restrictor shouldnt be more than 60psi at max rpm or 40-45 psi after the restrictor. So while i was replacing the oil feed line, i installed the oil « regulator » i bought a few years ago that i never installed. Its just a ball valve that reduces the pressure going to the turbo.
It was a pretty hard job, @TeamRX8 can confirm there is very little space on the chra of the g35/6262g turbos but i managed to make it work
The dump pipe from wastegate is very loud, more than i would have tought so i changed my wastegate spring from a 5psi to 13psi to keep the gate shut when im cruising around, will have to retune boost control. I have a 4 way boost control valve wich allows me to have a very soft spring but still can run 30psi if i want to. 13 would be the lowest boost id run anyway
fuel map seems good so far, had to trim 2.5% in the cruising and idle area so should be more fuel efficient on the highway a bit
