Arca, you worded your opinion that the manifold housing is non-divided like it's a fact, which can be misleading to some. I missed this when reading the article, can you explain why you came to this conclusion? Maybe we can put this to bed and find a better real world turbo comparison.

Here's a fact, on the SP website you can see that they have made a bunch of divided and non-divided turbo manifolds for the Supra. The only HKS style Supra manifolds I saw were divided ones, so it still sounds like they used a divided manifold for both tests.

Don't know what point you're making there, but it's not worth the time arguing over it.
The following rotary specific article is probably my relevant to us. You'll be happy to see it's pro-EFR. Some low boost results also, which make it more valid to a 13b-MSP application.

EFR Update
Been running my EFR 8374 for the last 10 months that I street tuned myself and I'm extremely pleased with it. Response is in another league compared to other turbos I've ran... including BB.
Bottom line is if you want the best response for your turbo rotary... then pay alittle extra and get a EFR.
I'm happy I did.
Below is a example of a RX-7 with 8374iwg at 14-15psi on 91 pump.
It's pretty similar to my set-up.
I'm holding at 12psi(which spools in a blink of a eye)until I can get it on the dyno for a final tune but she feels really good for now.

I purchased an EFR 8374 IWG .92 for my REW swap.
I was thinking of a Garret gt35/82R but after buying that, a wastegate, then spending the money on piping it in, then buying a blowoff valve and getting that plumbed in I would have paid about the same amount of cash and would much prefer the 8374.
I will be running about 15 -16 psi on 98 unleaded fuel with a turbo bridge port, hoping for 400 - 450 whp on an Australian dyno.

In 3rd gear , at what rpm will you see 12psi ? Yours is twin scroll ?
Best I can do with my GTX3576r is around 3600rpm.
Also : on the rx7 forum , there have been reports of drive-ability problems with the 8374 . Specifically with throttle modulation under light load . How is yours ?

No issues with throttle modulation here

i ran a 67mm borg and it was a magical setup. based my kit off the sfr kit and it handled boost like a champ. got the car to 450hp easy couldve gone higher but was running a stock block with 125K miles so not the greatest life decision to push its limits. also benefit for those turbos is thier cheap rebuild costs. i can do a full rebuild on it for 200 bucks if it ever blows

Unfortunately we can't mount one like that in the RX8 chassis
Regardless, firecran set the bar by proving that the supposed low-mount advantage is null and void on the RX8 chassis. There's no point trying to stuff a 10 pound turbo in a 5 pound hole trying to get 15 pounds of performance when an EFR 8374 delivers it all and more without all the torture ...
also been pretty impressed with Turbosource/Turblown that last year or two. I know their reputation was a bit tarnished in the past, but they seemed to have stepped up their game quite a bit.
