New BOTD meetup for rx8 and rx7 around september if anyone is interested??? Scheduled for SEPTEMBER 25th! Gonna chat with Herblenny about logisitics and will probably be held @nantahala village. let me know if you wanna come ill put you on the list!
I used to live in Georgia and my parents once drove us through "The Dragon's tail" when I was about 13 or so. I now live in Texas, and would love to take a chance to go back to Georgia for a week or so to drive those mountain roads and visit family! Autumn fits perfectly into my schedule, IDK about everyone else on this thread tho...
may set a backup date for later in september but that works for me on the 6th weekend. this will most likely be a small non-sponsored meet to see the interest in a fall date event for next year to be planned but that could be good
My labor day weekend got blocked off by a family member's wedding date, so that one is no longer open to me. I still have Sept 25th weekend open, and even the 28th of August for earlier.
just got my ABS fixed so i should be good to go :D saving some fresh gcomp2's for the front and hoping i can get versatuner by then so i can flash the stock 2004 ecu to atleast my 2007 cars year
i was at the DGRR in may with the Red Shinka but i cant find the DAM picture lol. It was her last fun outing now its the white cars turn
ive been using it for a week or so now tryin to figure out the ABS issue as well as using forscan which really is better on functions side/programming. it came with 2month free extended license and i didnt have to pay anything to program the ABS module :P even my locksmith couldnt figure it out
the versatuner software on the free side is still very cool compared to like obdscan or touchscan but depends what you are trying to do. im not turbo or modding much i just wanna be able to update the flash on the stock ecu and hide the airpump cel lol
i was really hoping for me people to come around but either way i will be there. It wont be much of a sponsered/planned event this year because of the lack of time/commiters
i will be there either way i cant wait to rip the car finally !
Ill get an update on the first post sometime by the weekend with all the details for sure
its funny my rx8 top speed is actually at the tail of the dragon/fontana on the long stretch between nantahala village and fontana village i got it to 156 and there was no more gear in 5th.. 6th wouldnt do it but maybe downhill you could get faster

I think I got mine to about 149 or so on a private road in Mexico way back in the days. Still had a little to go in 5th but I didn't want to push my luck on those tires so I never got to see what was the fastest it could go.
hope there are atleast a few people interested in coming ! i cant wait to get a few runs in a proper car finally! I will probably be staying at the campgrounds by the dam myself, but i have a friend getting a cabin at nantahala village.
Next year will be a much more planned event but its been too long since there has been a fall rx8 event so we gotta start something
