Pardon my intrusion upon you little tirade, but we are not going to take anything you say seriously about the efficacy of this product no matter how much pleading and teeth-gnashing you exhibit.
You can run a stopwatch all you want (BTW - is this 1962? A stopwatch?!?), we just don't find you convincing because of your seemingly nonsensical attachment to a product that has been absolutely proven to be fraudulent by people of far greater repute than yourself.
As a newb, calling people "dumbass's" [sic] erases any chance of credibility you might have had here.
So take your IAT resistor and enjoy it on your own.
After a few weeks of sooty exhaust and getting raped by '92 Escorts, we'll discuss your disappointment appropriately.

Dude, make sure it's an analog stop watch, none of us here trust those damn digitals. Also if you get a chance record the outside temp, ground temp, barometer pressure, tire pressure, humidity, grass to weeds ratio, incline, decline, no cline, recline, excline, etc.

No need to pound on him over that. I was the one who said stopwatch.
What's with 1962? I bought my first stopwatch (analog, wind-up) in 1967. Still have it. Bought a digital one a few years ago.
What do people use instead of stopwatches these days?

This thread reminds me of this: http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread...highlight=dyno
Except the participation here tends to be more sophomorific.

for all you dumbass's that keep saying stupid ****, ill repeat myself for the third time since youre obviously uncapable of understanding something when someone says it over and over again; I'm going to take a stop watch to it and test 0-30/ 0-60/ 0-100 first with the module off, then with it on. So you can all stop calling me stupid and insulting me when I've already said three times that I was going to test it and keep you guys posted. The only reason I started this thread was because I knew none of you people would believe me, so im running these tests on Thursday to prove that it does indeed help. So everyone just chill out with the insults until the numbers are in, until then you're just making yourselfs look like douchebags!!!!!!! Hold your comments until thursday.

ok, some of you guys are saying you MIGHT try it. Go on ebay, type in rx8, there are different kinds, the one I tried was the "peak performance" the title was +35HP Sport chip. It was $12 after shipping and taxes with money back guarantee. Instead of criticizing me, order it and try it. I'm sincerely saying it made a dif in my car. After on of you guyz have actually tried it, then post a comment and I'll take it seriously, otherwise dont waste your time trying to be funny.
I thought reading the claims in it would be informative. This must be some major company to be able to engineer this product for all these cars/trucks To also get each application to return 35 HP is a great. Did your chip look anything like this one https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=47162?

And someone who can only afford a $12 ebay do-nothing can afford a dyno?
With a back road (maybe even a hill) and a stopwatch one can test power differences. It can be an entertaining way to spend an afternoon.
Everyone's had fun ridiculing the guy. Maybe it's time to give him something a little useful.

really,
maybe on a track with a talented driver and many laps. yes.. any guy in an rx8 on a road... not so much...
what is he going to time?? 0 to 60 that depends on the launch.. only a pro can get that some what consistent..
5 to 60 not with a stop watch... we are talking about a 3% gain.. the thumb is not that fast..
now a carputer with a scanaliser would do it.. but dont think that will happen... or gps and a carputer..

:awaits post stating engine blew up because it was too lean:
anyway, even if its does 'lean out' the fuel map, doesn't the PCM combat this just by simply increasing the fuel, resulting in a stock tune? I thought this was one of the issues with the Emanage blue/canzoomer.. the stock PCM kept adding fuel back regardless how much you tuned? This PCM is barely tamed with a 600 dollar EMU, let alone a 12 dollar resistor..

helpful post:
take that 12 dollar chip out asap. your rx8 is way more valuable than the 12 dollars you used to buy that resistor. you are "fooling" your pcm with a $12 gadget. nothing good can come out of that.
p.s. if this resistor really worked, ALL of us would have this already.

FYI the stock PCM does not run "pig rich" in all situations. I am working with MM's data logs, and it will go as lean as 15-16 quite often in high vacuum areas....
I have proof of this fact. Can any of the $12 folks prove that running leaner than 16 is better for power or even safe / more economical? Unlikely.

No laps on a track. No launches. Not even gear changes. Nothing that requires driving talent. Pick a starting point and speed in one gear, floor it there, and time it to another known point. Find an uphill stretch to slow down the acceleration.
Thumb on a stopwatch is good to a couple of tenths. I think the claim for that gizmo was more than just 3%.
The biggest problem would be finding a place to do this safely. But maybe scouting for a location would lead to a nice drive through some back roads.

Oh, and with 30-some odd posts, calling folks "douchebags" is akin to walking around a cigarette lighter factory in gasoline soak clothes. Tends to attract flames.
By the way, these chips are only $2.39. Probably has the same effect as yours:
