Yes it IS possible, my RX-8 was!

I purchased my auto trans RX-8 in the summer of 2003. I purchased every factory option possible (GT, Nav, appearance pkg, spoiler, rotary accent pkg, spare tire, CD changer, cassette player, moonroof wind deflector, etc.) and every port installed accessory possible. The car's sticker from Mazda was well over $35,000 from the start. I also purchased every dealer installed accessory possible. I also have the 18" polished aluminum wheels (nearly $2000). That brings the price up to over $37,000. Now, add on:

Aldehyde Filter
Aluminum Air Vent Bezels
Aluminum Door Sill Trim Plates
Aluminum Pedal Set
Aluminum Tone Power Window Switches
Car Cover
Car Cover Cable Lock
Door Edge Guards
Exhaust Finishers
First Aid Kit
Fog Lights (multi-tint)
Front Splash Guards
Front Sunshield
Full Aero Nose Mask
Leather Chapparal Gear Shift ****
Leather Chapparal Parking Brake Lever
Mazdaspeed Exhaust
Night Lights
Polished Aluminum Fender Strakes
Premium Floor Mats
Rear Door Trim Protectors
Roadside Emergency Kit
Rotor Shaped Valve Stem Caps
Wheel Center Cap with Rotary Emblem
Wheel Locks

Add some labor cost for the install time on some of these accessories, and you will soon see how easy it is to get this car to $40k+. Just to note, I did NOT pay more than sticker.

this would seriuosly devalue the car, it would probably go for about 10 bucks or so, then you could haggle it down to about 1$ or less :D

I think I saw that car too....

Was it at Jay Marks or Joe Myers? I believe that car had some additional Mazdaspeed equipment in addition to the Mazdaspeed spoiler. I asked the dealer and he said it also had some "extremely expensive rims". I told him it was extremely surprising to put that kind of equipment on an automatic. Not that there is a problem with an AT, it's just that the majority of consumers looking to buy that type of vehicle (with all of the upgrades) would lean towards a MT. Just my opinion though....

Oh, I think it also had some ~$1000 RX-8 etching on the windows. It looked nice, but WAY OVER-PRICED!

When I walked into the dealership to get my 8 they had 5 in the showroom. Grey GT, Red GT, Red with only sport package, and a blue and green one with touring package. They had the Mazda List of Items on the car with MSRP of 33k or so and then there was a little sticker that the management put on that said 40.5k for it. The salesmen did his little speech about he can't sell it for less than 38k then 36k then 34k then 33.5....I just had to throw in that I got a discount since my father worked there so went home with it for 32.5.

Anyway youpey is correct about some rich kid ( college town ) comes in to dealership and wants a sports car and just pays the sticker price.

Stupid question...

Why put Mazdaspeed parts on an automatic transmission?

Well, it's the same thing for putting Mazdaspeed parts on M/T RX-8's: performance, and aesthetics.

Are you crazy???.... 39600.00 is base for a GT with absolutely nothing added

The MS spoiler isn't even available for purcase here and If I were to buy it from Truss and ship it it'l be damn near 2Gs....then of course there is installation
