OK guys ticket sales seem to be dissapating........is there something more that I need to do to help sell the tickets. This is an awesome opportunity to win a very cool Gift Certificate for $5, how can you beat that? Then I offered an extra prize....FREE REGISTRATION to our event in September. Thats 2!!! prizes for a $5 ticket. Come on guys lets sell these tickets out in the next month or so. CHECK OUT THE LINK IN MY SIGNATURE!!!

I also promise that if you pay for your registration fee and you end up winning the raffle for the free registration then I will refund your money, this way you will not lose out on the chance to win.

Its time to start registering for the event, now that the holidays are over and the new year is starting. Remember your registration must be in by July 31, 2005. I can't believe that only 2 people took advantage of the $5 discount on registration by December 31, 2004. And only 3 people participated in the logo contest. There are over 10,000 members on this board!!!!

Is there something more we need to do to help advertise this or help sell the tickets and registration, please your comments are welcome!!!

This is pretty lame folks...a gazillion members on this forum and only 70 tickets so far???? Come on folks! What and excellent opportunity to grab some stuff!!!!

Just an idea BlueGrim8....but what about a 90 day sticky in each level of the forum from rx8club.com down (lounge, photo gallery, media, etc)???? Some folks really may not be seeing this.........

Another thought.....change the title to something like....."RacingBeat Sways only $5.00!!"......and then following up in the thread with something like...."if you are the winner drawn in this raffle.....blah, blah, blah" or something like that.....just a thought.....I am by no means a marketing guy.......but I did stay at a HolidayInn Express a couple weeks ago......

Thanks smrx8!

ALRIGHT everyone only 6 more days till the offer expires to add an additional prize to the raffle, free registration to the Brotherhood of the dragon (a $45 value) if we sell 100 tickets by Jan 31, 2005.

REMEMBER, you do not have to be present at the Dragon to win this raffle. This is a raffle for everyone and the winner will be drawn way before the Dragon, hopefully in time enough to do a second smaller raffle that the Brotherhood of the Dragon has planned!!!

We have A LOT of backing for this meet in September, even talks DIRECTLY with MAZDA so come on guys lets see your support and buy those tickets.

Just to clarify for everybody. The raffle ends as soon as the last ticket is sold. There seems to be some folks who think that the drawing will be at the event, and this is NOT the case. If all the tickets are sold by next week, then the raffle ends next week, and you get the prize then.

So, don't hold off thinking that September is a long time to wait, 'cause it could be this week, or next week, if all the tickets are sold by then.

Um, I thought the raffle was over 1/31/05 based on the post above? Are you extending it again?

The raffle is over when 200 tickets are sold, I am not sure why everyone is getting confused. That information is in my signature, on the website and in every post about the raffle.

The raffle ends when 200 tickets are sold......I made an offer to everyone on the boards as an incentive to sell tickets. That I would place an additional prize in the raffle if we sold 100 tickets by 1/31/2005. This makes the raffle worth $500 gift certificate to the first name drawn and $50 registration package to the second name drawn.....I am not sure how else to explain it. If any one has any other ideas on how to make everyone understand I am open to suggestions because it seems really easy to me.

Raffle will end when 200 tickets are sold. When that happens two names will be drawn: TICKET ONE will get $500 Gift Certificate and TICKET TWO will get $50 Registration package to BOTD.

I definitely remember reading this thread at one point and it saying the raffle would end Jan 31 regardless of the number of tickets sold. Bad business practices?

Is there any way you can keep a semi-up to date # of tickets sold on the board or the website by any chance?

Thankya

I have quoted above 4 posts that say the raffle will end when the last ticket is sold, all of the rules all along have said there will be 200 tickets to sell. I apologized in a couple of threads above about the confusion and explained again twice that I was offering an additional prize TO SHOW GRATITUDE TOWARDS EVERYONE WHO IS BUYING TICKETS if we sell 100 OF THE 200 TICKETS by 01/31/2005. I see that some people didn't read the rules or don't seem to care that I offered an additional prize IF AND ONLY IF we sell 100 of the 200 tickets by January 31, 2005. If people had cared to read the above posts AND the many other posts on the board AND the www.mazdanow.com website they would understand exactly how things are working.

On another note I don't appreciate your "Bad Business practices" post in the forum when you have obviously not read all of the information. If you had a problem with something or there was some confusion then PM or email me. MY EMAIL is all over the BOARDS and on the www.mazdanow.com website. There is no reason to publicly bad mouth something you do not completly understand.

I apologize to other members on the board as well as all the people that have purchased tickets if this sounded a bit rude. I just can't bring myself to understand why we are being bad mouthed by some when all we are doing is trying to give back to the members and vendors of this forum. The whole purpose of our cause (The Brotherhood of the Dragon) is for everyone who is interested to come share in the comradary and friendship of meeting up with many others just like them (a love for their car). We are also trying to have a little fun with modding the car by giving away over $500 worth of stuff for a little $5 ticket. That is a 500% return on your investment. We have also stated if some people are not interested then we understnad that, and for those of you that are we are trying to take every step possible to explain everything and answer any questions promptly.
Please if any one has any question or concerns with ANYTHING feel free to PM me and I can personally guarentee that I will get back with you within 12 hours. I hope that this post has cleared any confusion up, if not please email or PM me.

Thanks again to all who have purchased tickets and all that plan to attend!!!!

Well, pmacwill, you better go take your memory pill.
At no point, and I mean NEVER, has anything been posted saying that the rafffle ends Jan 31. What has been said is that if 100 tickets are sold by Jan 31, then a free registration to the event will be drawn in addition to the main prize. A bad business practice is to go off half-cocked with faulty information. Next time read the whole thread.

We have now reached 100 tickets sold, so I will be throwing in a free registration to the Brotherhood of the Dragon, now as soon as we sell 100 more tickets we will draw the two winners.

The raffle STILL HAS 100 TICKETS TO SELL. As said in ALL of the above posts 200 tickets must be SOLD.

When 200 tickets are sold we will be Raffling a $500 Gift Certificate and a Free Registration to the Brotherhood of the Dragon.

I think this post is the one that is confusing everyone.

Again my apologies for the confusion.
But I have since and almost immediatly corrected the confusion many times. Well before today.

The rules are all still the same 200 tickets must be sold before a winner is drawn.

Hang in there smrx8. What you did do is make it a 2-prize raffle by getting to the 100 goal by Jan 31. You have made it better for everyone, and we thank you.

Very misleading script, i would of thought that 100 was now the magical number also, so what another 3 months or so before the next 100 are sold. I think i'll pass.

If someone would please back up what they have to say. Has anyone looked at www.mazdanow.com ???
Also did anyone read that I asked any concerns be PM'd to me personally?

It seems that the people making accusations her are not able to read anything, why is it misleading when we have sold so many tickets?

Not trying to be rude but what exactly isn't clear about 200 tickets to be sold, stated very plainly on the www.mazdanow.com website. That information hasn't changed. Everyone is listening to what other people have to say instead of actually reading what is stated very clearly since the beginning. If you want to pass thats fine but please take it up with me via PM.

Guys, the rules for this raffle have been stated pretty plainly the entire time. It's not fair for you to say they weren't. The guys are working their butts off for this, for no personal gain AT ALL except to make sure everyone that goes to the Tail of the Dragon this year has a good time.

Thumbs up

Last year, we had a blast at the Tail of the Dragon as any of the several links to threads below will illustrate. It was one of the best times I've had in several years, without question.

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=Dragon

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=Dragon

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=Dragon

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=Dragon

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=Dragon

For $120, a person was able to register for last year's run. For this price they recieved the following:

1) A TWO night stay at the now infamous Smokey Mountain Mansion (one night alone would probably run you $120 in a place like this)

2) A Tail of the Dragon T-shirt

3) Breakfast on Sat and Sunday mornings

4) The bar-b-que feast at our banquet Saturday night

5) Grilled burgers on Friday night

6) Tail of the Dragon Certificate

7) Drinks provided

8) "Goody Bag" for each person

9) Ticket for door prize selection.

The Goody bag and doorprizes were donations from the many vendors, but everything else costs money. After it was all said and done, I was short almost $500 which came out of my own pocket. No biggie though, because eveyone had a great time and I was able to hide it from my wife.

We gave away a cat-back exhaust system, a 50% off certificate for a new Borla exhaust system, sway bars. Rhino Ramps, hats, mugs, RX-8 shirts, keychains, stickers, vale-stem covers, a Hymee Grille kit, rotary clocks and much, much more. A local newspaper featured our event in their paper.

This year, five of us came together to plan and organize and to raise as much money as possible, to get the best food and give away the best prizes as we could. The more we raise, the nicer the banquet and doorprizes we will be awarding. Everything goes back into the event.

On damn near every post BlueGrimRX8 submits, his signature hosts a BILLBOARD-SIZED link back to the raffle page in the Dragon section of the MazdaNow.com website. The fourth line down states that 200 tickets will be sold. From day one, it has stated this.

To promote the raffle, a special incentive was announce that if 100 tickets were sold by a certain date, an ADDITIONAL doorprize of a free registration would be given away (meaning a package of a free t-shirt, banquet, certificate, doorprize ticket and lodging discount). This may have created some confusion, but it was unintentional.

After last year, we have not organized an orchestrated effort to embark on a business venture, but have come together with a common, non-profit thought in mind....

LAST YEAR WAS A BLAST.....LET'S DO IT AGAIN!!!

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWWWWW!!!

:D :D :D :D :D

sooooooo....if you feel YOU ARE DUE for having a great time and socializing with many fine, adventurous people, just like yourself, then THIS IS THE ONE. Imagine 100 RX-8's coming together for 2 to 4 days of site seeing, socializing, partying, and of course, RUNNING THE TAIL OF THE DRAGON. 11 miles, 318 curves...
