Just stopped by my dealership this morning to get an oil change and saw this beautiful 8 in the showroom. They did a really nice job on it and I was happy to drool all over it while I was waiting for my car. I doubt they will ever get $50K for it though, that's just insane. At least I'll have something to look at next time I go in for service. Discuss!

And 50k thats yeah a bit much. I could see maybe 40k if they slapped all Mazdaspeed parts on it and maybe a custom paint job along with a custom stereo set up. (I'm assuming they have all Mazdaspeed parts on it right now).

Yeah, everything but the flywheel, I noticed. Suspension is shocks and springs, not the coilovers.

 

They "claim" to have "all" the Mazdaspeed parts available on it in their Sunday classified ad.

hahaha.. your right.. the person will buy it and 2 weeks later or less it will be in a horribly odd accident, like a dump truck will back into it and dump its load into the front window filling it with gravel.

 

I'm not sure if it's the only 2007 they have in stock, I noticed some '06 models on the lot. The ebay ad says "ONE OF THE ONLY SPEED RX8 ON THE WEST COAST" which is more than a little ambiguous.

I see their eBay ad has no bids after being up all weekend. Still at the $20K open.

I wonder what they have the reserve set at. The cars that my dealership post on ebay (we only post used cars on Ebay), have a reserve usually set about a grand over invoice.

If the car was stickered at about $31,000 (I'm pretty sure it's a GT since it has a roof), and all the total add-ons stickered about, let's say, $10,000 (and that's being generous, cause I don't think all that stuff will add up to more than $6-$7,000)....
If someone were to "buy it now", thats a good $10,000-$13,000 worth of gross.
My dealership pays 25% of what gross you made selling the car. I'd like to be the salesman who sells that one!!

 

I believe they stuck to the US market Mazdaspeed parts, no racing seats, no mirrors. Just this stuff. And they did go with the less expensive suspension and wheels. The newspaper ad says "Come out and see it", so I think that it's really more of a promotional thing, at least right now, and is why it's priced so high. Come in and look at the insanely priced car we built and then buy something else.

 

Man thats weak. It doesn't even have a front emblem. At least mine does haha!

Love the 8 but for 50K I would be driving something else. I would be more interested in making the car lighter instead of adding a bunch of weight. I hope they don't get anywhere what they are asking just for being dumb asses.
