Angry !@#@!%@#$!! i dont' even know what to do now...

ok so its been 7 weeks or 8 weeks in 4 days

my car has been at the dealership for loss of power steering...

i've been driving more and more rentals just wanting my lovely car back

i just now dropped by to check on my car tonight because one time they left the keys in the ignition with the car unlocked over the weekend...

today i find my hood popped up with 3 dents i tried to open my hood to see wtf

i couldn't even open the damn hood

i don't know what to do now... i already asked for a set of wheels Friday as compensation for having my car for so long and having to cancel my roadtrip vacation to Florida which the GM i believe was approving so what do i say now that i've found damage to my hood?

i'm about to bug my gf's uncle for his Firms legal assistance

power steering problem is common. It shouldn't take more than an hour to fix either.

I don't know what the big deal is... I mean, you get to drive a rental that gets better gas mileage than the 8. You also arent depreciating your car with mileage, and it's on their dime. Just get them to fix the hood dents. I don't know about getting a lawyer and extorting them for cash or wheels and all that if they fix it. People over react nowadays with the legal threats.

did they check the harness below the battery? that seems to be the common problem place with the power steering in our car.

its Summer we usually get snow for half a year

i purchased my car to enjoy it

sure i could of purchased a porsche but i choose to own an RX-8 because i like driving it

you may be in the bracket that a car is for A-B only, but this car for me is entertainment/relaxation

gas mileage isn't my concern sure yeah i'm saving gas but i'm still driving around a shitty rental, its uncomfortable, i'm limited in mileage 200km/day

i had to cancel a vacation with my mom who i barely get enough time to see because she's always busy with her work and she is now leaving for the UK for a few months

the rental company won't allow me to drive to Florida as its too far... i didn't buy an RX-8 so i could drive a rental GM product or bitch about gas prices

^ +1... that was a rather illogical statement. Maybe you had a chain of logic behind it... but -most- people follow the logic of "I want to drive my car" and tend to not think about the "well at least I'm not putting miles on my car" type of thing. Now if they had at least given him a rental he was interested in, or maybe even a mazda loaner... During the engine recall I'll admit I was looking forward to having a CX-7 loaner. I needed to get the recall done, so I might as well enjoy it.... needless to say, I was disappointed when I found out they dont have loaners and gave me a rental neon.

So, basically... it's rare to look forward to having your car in the dealer. He's making payments/paid for that car, why should he not enjoy -that- car... if he wanted the rental he has, he probably could have bought it.

Anyways, as for your question: I'd talk to them again and basically make it obvious this is there last chance... If they screw up again, they should be prepared to compensate you greatly.

Well, it sucks you're getting the short end of the stick with the rental car company, but it seems to me, you could have negotiated a deal with the dealership to pony up a few bucks to get you a decent rental that you could take into the states for a week.

And, no, I'm not "in the bracket" that a car is only for transportation, which is why I drive a 500hp GTO every day, just for laughs and because I can. Are you not "in the bracket" that you can fly down to Florida instead of driving if you had really wanted to see your mom?

If you can buy a Porsche, and the RX8 is a weekend car, why the are you driving a shitty rental, and simply not driving your second car/SUV?

Sounds to me like you whine a lot about your "problems" without attempting to fix them, don't hold people accountable to commitments, and don't have the skills to negotiate yourself out of a paper bag. Oh, now I see why you need a lawyer.

^don't really want to get in the middle of an "internet arguement" but, I can't help but wonder why are you even on this forum making comments when you don't even own an rx8? nobody cares you drive a GTO either...especially on an RX8 forum

I had an RX8. I paid my dues with that RX8. It was at the dealership so long and so many times that I had MNAO take it back and give me a brand new one. You think this guy has car problems or something to bitch about? That's nothing.

Dom, I'm not bashing the RX8, so why all the hate on my car? I really enjoyed having my RX8(s), which is my point. I've had problems with my current car too. Big damn deal. Grow a sack, deal with stuff when it goes wrong, and enjoy your car.

Why so much whining about this and that? You going to rescue and defend every lost soul that drops in here and cries about the the cup holders being too hot? Aw, my brakes squeel, so I'm gonna die? That's what this thread is about. He wanted a little sympathy, so I figure I'd have some fun and try and make a point or two about it.

Sort out the problems with turbos on the 8, and I'd be back.

Sorry man, I really should chill out, or the karma police is going to drop out the sky and grenade my engine the next time I spray it.
You really don't have to do that, Karma, if you heard that. I got it. Really.
