0-400m

Hi guys i'm rather confused with the 0-400m timing. Can anyone tell me what is the 0.400m timing for RX8?

When i watch the Best Motoring, they drove it like 15'+
But i Australia Wheels magazine is 14'8''

why is that?

Cheers

cause best motoring cant drive!

0-400 is the 1/4 mile

if you can think back to your highschool days, if your out of hs that is, its one lap around the outdoor track

POOman, he's an Aussie, I'm sure he's pretty familiar with the metric system. However feet and inches seem to be a bit of an issue. By 14'8" I'm guessing you don't really mean 14.8 seconds.
Each publication will get different times, since there are different drivers, different conditions, and sometimes a variance between cars. It's that way with every car, it's nothing new. Just figure the car to be anywhere between 14.5 and 15.2 or so if it's really something that is important to you.

Cut and Paste

Don't know if anyone still cares.... but I cam back from the bookstore today and pulled some data off JDM publications on the RX-8.

Drivers Magazine, 06/20/03

RX8 Type S (250hp 6MT) RX-8 Type E (210hp 4AT)
0-100km ---------6.83------------9.10--------
0-400m ----------14.9-----------16.55--------

Raw data is not that useful by itself, so I pulled another magazine to put these numbers in perspective.

CG (Car Graphics) 06/03
---------RX-8 Type S--------G35C*--------350Z Touring*
0-100km -------6.5----------6.6-----------6.3------------
0-400m --------14.6--------14.6----------14.4-----------

Not to shabby~

G35C: Nissan Skyline Coupe 350GT
350Z Touring: Nissan Fairlady Z Type T

I'm removing my previous post here because it was totally innaccurate on reflection. Sorry: it's been a long day and I should now engage my brain...

I made a typo there, I meant to say I'm guessing you mean 14.8 seconds.

So you're saying that 14'8" could in fact translate into 14.8 seconds???

so the JDM production RX-8 does not seem to have a power issue according to these 1/4 mile runs.
