'05s Have The Same Problems

I went to another dealership today trying to get my headlights replaced (condensation comes and goes, and has left un ugly staining on the inside of the lenses). My dealership says Mazda refuses to replace them because they are "vented." While I was there I walked around the lot with the sale mgr. They had 8 '05s on the lot and half of them had condensation in the headlights (2 had A LOT!), and 5 of them had REALLY bad moisture in the taillights. The sales mgr agreed that this isn't right, said he'd look into it, but made me no promises.

** I'm confused why the '05s are marred with the same problems as the '04s?

**I'll conclude with the usual: I LOVE this car, but......

TCZ...maybe a call into MNAO would help your cause. It wouldn't hurt to buzz them anyway.....800-222-5500. Just have your VIN # ready when you call.

Good luck!!

The subject line for this thread is a bit misleading. What has been discovered is ONE problem in five '05s that was seen on '04s. I have an '05 and have not had any of the common problems people have complained about in this forum.

Haven't there been people who have had them replaced under warranty? Try searching the forum, I'm sure there has been some people who have. It might be a matter of finding a better dealer.

Sorry about the misleading subject line (unintentional!). I am simply commenting on my shock at seeing the 05s with the same problem (on the other hand, I guess moisture in headlights AND taillights could be considered 2 problems!)

I have an 04 with the same prob, was lazy for about three weeks because my dealer was about 40 min. away from me. They took care of it right away when I brought in my car.

Since you had the headlights replaced, have you had zero moisture? My thinking is that if some '05s are experienceing the same problem, there is a good chance that the problem will resurface in the replaced lenses (?)

Same here. No flooding, no brake squeal, no milkiness on the oil dipstick, etc. etc.

I have the headlight film along the top of the lense. Build date 9/03. I think I will just cover it up with eyelids...

I had some fog in a tail light... Took the car in and in 30 minutes I had a new tail light.

[Knock on wood] My '04 (March/04 build) seems to have escaped many of the so called '04 problems listed in this forum. Head lamps and tail lamps are fine, no brake squeal, no rattles, not a single problem to date. The car just runs like a champ, guess I'm lucky. (Did I knock on wood?)

Ah! They have a functional purpose. Brilliant! (Imagine me saying that in a British accent, like in the Guinness commercials) I always wondered what the purpose was of those damn eyelids. Otherwise, to me, they're one of the least noticeable accessories especially for this car.

Ive checked my car and i do get some condensation in the headlights, but it's around the edges where the seal is. Now, when i wash my car, I get condensation on my right altezza light. But it would go away afterwhile.
