It's a whole year you could be enjoying an RX-8.
I had to wait 16 months from launch to getting mine and I wish I had got one earlier.
The next one/year/model/version always has an upgrade or two but you could die waiting for the "best" version.

I give this about a70% chance of being on the ball but supposedly in the 06' or 07' mazda is going to use an electric motor assisted turbo... essentially the electric motor driving the turbo at low rpms and then letting the motor take over when exhausts starts driving it on its own, essential a "minimal lag" turbo system....

I also read somewhere here that '06 will be the last year before they make any design changes to the body (and, coincidentally, will mark the mid-life of the RX-8). Can't remember who said that, though...

Personally, i'm really hoping for the smg.
Depends on how aggressive the controller is, but typically 0-60 and 1/4 times are a little slower (not much). hopefully it'll have launch control like BMW's, and hopefully it's nothing like Toyota's (for the MR-S) which has slow shift times, 300 msec or so; I think BMW's can go as low as 50 msec. An Audi/VW style dsg would be nice too :D
PS 100 posts, lol. I've been here over a year...

No the rx 13 was only a concept dumby. They used uranium enriched Multitronic dioxanol rotors made of triptonium. Silly that was doomed to fail as we all know the flux matrix was resonanting at 480 ohms when what we wanted was 1200 ohms with a impedance of 12. I thought that was common knowledge. Well im just glad i cleared it up for you.
As we all know the rx14 we be a world renowned marvel with 12 rotors per wheel with, Flame decals per fender flare adding 40 bhp per wheel. "depending on what flame color you get" We all know blue flames are more intense so its 50 bhp. Also for added fuel economey they will know make the car in shape of just 1 big rotor instead of just hiding them everywhere like the infereior rx8 model; Plus they will include the optional Tricycle I hear that they are using light weight flywheels on it so it gets 50 mpg. Just some info for you guys.

I would expect a SMG version of a car with launch control to be just as quick as the regular manual transmission version of the same car driven by an expert driver (read, the SMG would be quicker than most of us driving a manual! )
