'09 R3, MP3's CD's
#2
I have an '07, so this may not apply, but the 6 disc changer seems to be audio CDs only. I tried an MP3 CD with no luck, then went through the manual. There was nothing there about the 6 disc setup being MP3 compatible. I burned an audio CD and it works just fine.

in S1 8's there were 3 different types of cd players..
1. the normal single disc player
2. the normal 6 disc player
3. the mp3/normal player
Im not sure what all is availiable in the s2's but my guess from what your telling me you have one that does not play mp3's

Has anyone tried these little units?

If the RX stereo has the CD changer plug in the back it would open up a heap of possibilities for music.

it does have the external CD changer plug, and this is nothing new... devices similar to this have been using that plug for years.
the quality issue lies in bitrate of your files and proper decoding along with electromagnetic shielding. i've seen a few devices including my own, and they all produce a background hum

One of the pictures on there shows that its an Audio Link.
Same thing lots of people have been using here, it works good.
Do a search for Audio Link or maybe audiolink.

The auction said to check the version number of the stereo, it has to be 9.55-10.00.
Mine is 9.50! Gutted, looks like this won't be an option for me, not sure if it has to do with the plug or software/hardware thing.

My 2009 RX-8 R3 seems to have a 6 disc MP3 player.. It plays MP3s anyway.. The only thing is if you have a folder with only a couple songs on it it loops in that folder until you press the button to hop folders.. (the same as the disc change button).
