Not too bad, with some practice you should be able to shave off a couple tenths.

I'm pretty sure I can get low 14's with some better tires and shifting. I have old plugs and it's time to change my oil lol

It's also my first time at the track with a manual too
2nd gear is super sensitive in this car, 1st run it grinded real badly...
is my best bet to launch at 6k and do a harsh slip?

and only thing I hate about this tranny is that right before the line you have to shift to 4th, found that shifting at 9k instead of 9.4k i gained a higher trap speed.

Yeah better tires will definitely get you out of the hole quicker. Launching at 6k is about right and shifting at 8500RPM (9k on stock tach) is about where you wanna be so don't over shift, there is nothing to be gained there. You should be able to hit a 14.5 but anything quicker may require some other power adders.

When I was bone stock I could beat (typically hit 14.5's on average) all the guys in naturally aspirated 8's that had numerous bolt-ons so don't think adding the typical I/H/E is going to make you quicker. But back then i was drag racing a lot and had been for years so it just takes practice. Some people have the natural touch though and it sounds like you may have it because most guys I see run in NA RX-8's can barely break 15's if at all.

careful with the street racing stuff buddy

That combo can be tricky and you can screw up your power curve if you are not careful. So choose your parts wisely and talk it over with your tuner.

My header has a turbo attached to it so I would rape an RSX

lol lucky you, if i want to turbo it would be either go big or go home!
I'd get my engine rebuilt so I wouldn't have any real complications, but I'm pretty sure my engine is still healthy by looking at these 1/4 times lol

Yeah if your planning on going FI, it's best to have a daily or some other backup plan even with a healthy engine Proper Prior Planning. Trust me, I have learned by trial and error

But really just getting a free flowing exhaust with a header and a cobb accessport tune would simply give me more power all over the power curve, not making it more linear?
Because at this stage it's the only thing left to do other than getting a nitrous kit or going turbo

It depends on the combo of parts used. The header and tune would be the important pieces and no off the shelf headers have proved to make a significant amount of power yet.
