10 Years old!
I know we have a lot of high mileage 8s here, but just wanted to start a thread as my 8 is 10 years old! Woot! It was manufactured in 2003, but bought in Jan 2004. Running great still!

My current 8 was also built in 2003...July 03 in fact, even though I swapped into it in 2005 from the original automatic 8 I bought in the summer of 03.
It's still running strong to this day (well the original engine was replaced at 70k miles through warranty and the current one has got about 30k on it) but with the surprise repair bills and replacement parts I've been dealing with on the car since last year...I think I may finally be pulling the plug on mine fairly soon. Saved a ton of money by not leasing anything else for this long and I don't even remember what a car payment feels like...but yeah, the end is definitely near.
A decade of ownership man. Makes you feel old. I was just a punk fresh out of high school back then when this came out. "The car from X-2!!" Remember? Damn...a lot of changes over the years. ****...it's a lot to take in.

I bought my RX-8 new in September of '04, so 5 more months and I'll be hitting the 10 year mark as well. And my 8 just turned 30,000 miles and looks and runs darned near like new.

It's my understanding that most RX8s are 2004 model year. By the end of they year having one that's 10 years old won't be such a unique event. Having owned one for 10 years will be special.
