10 Years old!

I know we have a lot of high mileage 8s here, but just wanted to start a thread as my 8 is 10 years old! Woot! It was manufactured in 2003, but bought in Jan 2004. Running great still!

Cool! Is your 10 year old still on its original engine?

Mine's approaching 8 years old, but only 60k miles, not enough to proclaim longevity.

Mine was made in Sept of 04. I purchased it last summer. I have put maybe 3k miles on it but that is a long story. Oh and I work a metric **** ton.

My current 8 was also built in 2003...July 03 in fact, even though I swapped into it in 2005 from the original automatic 8 I bought in the summer of 03.

It's still running strong to this day (well the original engine was replaced at 70k miles through warranty and the current one has got about 30k on it) but with the surprise repair bills and replacement parts I've been dealing with on the car since last year...I think I may finally be pulling the plug on mine fairly soon. Saved a ton of money by not leasing anything else for this long and I don't even remember what a car payment feels like...but yeah, the end is definitely near.

A decade of ownership man. Makes you feel old. I was just a punk fresh out of high school back then when this came out. "The car from X-2!!" Remember? Damn...a lot of changes over the years. ****...it's a lot to take in.

Awesome! And congratulations!

I bought my RX-8 new in September of '04, so 5 more months and I'll be hitting the 10 year mark as well. And my 8 just turned 30,000 miles and looks and runs darned near like new.

It's my understanding that most RX8s are 2004 model year. By the end of they year having one that's 10 years old won't be such a unique event. Having owned one for 10 years will be special.

Mine is 10 years old and just hit 200,000 miles today! I bought mine new in 2004 around this time of year. Big milestone for my RX8. May the next 10 years be just as fun as the first.

My 1st RX8 was built August 2003. My 2nd and current RX8 is also August of 2003. It's fate tbh. My custom plate is "DKDA" - decade in Spanish.
