We don't get much snow here in Middle Tennessee, but what little we do is fun to drive in. I have driven my RX8 in a few inches of snow and it handled like the well balanced car that it is. I couldn't speak to the deeper snows they get up North. Tires would be your biggest concern as long as the snow wasn't deeper than the car's clearance.

Haha I live in the tropics so snow isn't something I have ever driven in. I can however advise that my '8 copes just fine with >33deg Celcius temps with >80% humidity. I need to keep the oil level topped up and sometimes if I have done a series of short trips the engine fan stays on after I park at the shopping centre, but then I do 50km on the highway to get home and that seems to cool the engine down sufficiently. The aircon works just fine.

117,000 miles- 05 A/T. Absolutely zero problems (first engine and all), other than a hiccup the other day: CEL came on, it was the P2070 code (intake manifold valve stuck open). No symptoms other than the light. It turned off later that day and hasn't come back on since. (knocking on wood)

I am at 140,000Km 2007 model. Original motor, clutch, brakes etc. The only part I have replaced (other than consumables) is left rear shockie at 100,000km.
I got 85,000km from the original tyres. Am now at 55,000km on replacement Michelins with more rubber left (expect about 65,000km or more from these).
My only gripe is a squeek in the central airbag cover on the steering wheel.
Love my RX8

Oops, I meant replaced left rear shockie at 80,000km (then Mazda tried to tell me that both right and left needed replacing at 100,000km - rubbish according to specialist)

Throwing my hat in the ring. I joined the 100,000 mile club this weekend. My '04 MT still has the original engine and I have been following Mazda's maintenance schedule 2. The car has been great and has never left me stranded.
Here's to another 100,000 miles.

Will drift for oil.
About to hit 123k on my original motor, original tranny, and original clutch in my 04 6spd!
Driven every single day for the past 4 years when I bought her second hand with 63k on the clock
Has survived 3 minnesota winters and counting
Coolant changed at 70k
Tranny and diff fluid changed at 80k with stock fluid, going to try that synchromesh stuff when i change again at 130k, 3rd and 4th are grinding a bit
Currently cleanin the intake valves and they are getting better, not exactly sure which one is sticking so im just cleanin and revin lol
Had to replace right side engine mount not long ago
Rotor tattoo on my left forearm to celebrate the 100k mark
On my second set of coils last replaced at 100k, going to replace at 125k or 130k and remount to front of engine bay
Replace the plugs every 5-10k
Been using valvoline 5w-20 conventional changed every 3k (thinking of going to 10w-30 next change)
Will start premixing asap
The motor has outlasted my clutch and ill have to replace it asap lol
Never revved it over 3k before operating temp is reached
Think i got all of what ive been doing, anyone got any suggestions if im missing something? Car has been great, i love it to death and she seems to just be getting better with age like a fine wine check out my youtube video of hitting the 100k mark youtube.com/tableoftisch cuz im a nerd lol
