IMo Bose is poor home hifi at exorbitant costs.
Many cheaper and better solutions.
In caars they tend to be often just badged Bose (and are 'cerfitied' by bose) but designed and manufactured by other companies (with IMO better reps, but the unwashed masses think bose=quality).
But in Uk we get the Bose with 6CD, and no other choice (no base ICE). Thankfully it is supposed to sound good , as I dont like messing round with in car audio like I do at home.

I don't understand how it is a mirror "trick". Surely it's just common sense?
Maybe it is for you oldies .. :p I've always adjusted my mirrors this way from the day I passed my test. I don't think I was taught any particular way, but this made the most sense to me...??

BOSE for home audio is universally awful (ok perhaps not the 901s that made their reputation so many years ago). I have done a lot of research into this when I thought about buying an Acoustimass system for the bedroom a few years back. BOSE never let you compare their speaker with any other, they have a separate demo area and the salespeople are instructed to never let a real comparison happen. The speakers are incredibly cheaply made and have a huge section of the audio spectrum where nothing happens (lower midrange and upper bass). No magazines are ever allowed to review BOSE, else all advertising will be pulled. One magazine broke this rule once and found staggeringly bad results, both from listening and technical measurement. BOSE is a marketing company and people buy their products because of marketing and appearance and image and a good 5 minute demo (without allowing comparisons). There are vastly better speakers (even of similar size) for less money out there if someone takes the time to look.
For car audio, people get BOSE because they have no choice, nobody buys an aftermarket BOSE system. Again BOSE have done a superb job of marketing (and pricing - helped by incredibly cheap and shoddy parts used) and persuaded most leading auto makers to use their stuff as the upgrade option. I have heard BOSE in Audis, Acuras, Infinitis and several other vehicles and have hated it every time. Compared to the Infinity system in my '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee the BOSE was worse. Compared to the Nakamichi system in my '99 RX300 the BOSE in my '02 MDX sounds absolutely dreadful. The base sound system in my IS300 is SO much better than any BOSE (or Nakamichi/Infinity come to that), and the Mark Levinson in the LS430/SC430s I've driven are another league again.
Now BOSE is trying to fix issues caused by the poor quality of materials and manufacture for the speakers with electronic manipulation of the signal (audio pilot - to monitor in car noise and boost various frequencies to compensate) - this may work (but has been derided in the 350Z). I only listened to the BOSE (only FM radio, not CD) in the RX-8 for a minute before my test drive - it was better than the BOSE in the G35 without even tweaking the controls, so it will be acceptable for me and most people. But I will never confuse it with something good.
BTW I am an audiophile at home (vinyl forever! - no CD player sounds as good as my turntable), but could not care less about car audio so long as it's vaguely acceptable (the environment will never be condusive to good sound so why bother).

interesting observation... is the red similar to the red of a BMW? more like orange?
Someone asked about the temp, and it's there on the same display, giving ambient temp, which I assume means outside air, though my dictionary defn is ambiguous and could mean either out or in. I guess I'll run the ac on a hot day and see what happens.
