Being that his car is a FWD car, he can't control oversteer with the throttle and when his rear end whips loose he can't hold it. RWD cars can hold it if you know how to use the throttle and steering.
Then laugh at him all day long

Still, Integras are very nicely handling cars, and regularly embarass RWD cars on track. Having RWD isn't everything, so don't get too cocky with your friend, he might just suprise you. Best to wait until the RX8 is "out" before you start bench racing

Just become a better driver than him and focus your energy on learning proper technique instead of arguing. When you're up to the task, humiliate him in <insert car here>.

Another advantage of having RWD is the fact that when you mash the gas peddle, the weight will transfer to the rear wheels, the driving wheels. With front wheel drive cars, they have more problems, for very little of the weight is applied to the front wheels.

What do you think will be the key factors in this cars success? I personally think many willl buy this car merely for the looks. That's what initially drew me in. What does mazda have to do for this car to be a success, and eventually release an RX-7?

give us more info now! start advertising now! get my car to me by may, don't make me wait until summer!
seriously though they need to get more word out on this car, soon.i talk to people all the time who have never even heard about it. even if the production models don't make it to the smaller car shows this winter, mazda should get the yellow mule and maybe even the old evolve out to them to create some buzz.

that's true, but in proportion... think in nominal terms... the US has nearly 10 times the population, and a whole lot more buying power per person than canadians, not to mention the fact that their car-crazy demand shifts the market clearing price well above the price of cars in canada (in real terms).

Nimble cars are good, and yes, mazda is known for them. But mazda is also known for affordable sports cars. Let's just hope they remember this when pricing the RX-8. If they don't they'll price themselves out of competition of the 350Z.

As per price, it tops out at 31k loaded with navigation, according to the VP of Mazda North America so I think that's a good roundabout figure.
Just take a guess for around 30k with a fully loaded 6 speed manual.

How you gonna keep them away???
All Mazda has to do, in order to drum up more business than they can possibly handle, is to run a one-minute ad during the Super Bowl. The car will sell itself. I can't believe how good looking that car is! And by the way, yes there will be an RX-7 again. The US has gone horsepower-crazy. I mean, think about it! The new Honda Accord has a 240-hp V6!

You know what sucks? Up here in canada, we get the rebroadcasted superbowl. So we don't actually see those sweet Superbowl ads. We only see the stupid ones from Canada. The ones that aren't really expensive...

Oh, and by the way, If I can't get an RX-8, I'll get a Dakota R/T, what have you guys heard of them?

hummmm you should try shopping around a bit, Honda's new SIR, or Nissan's very fast and hot SE-R Spec-V would be a much better choice then a Dakota...
Like is the Dakota even in the same category as an 8, **** you might as well get a camel, its about as close to an 8 as a Dakota..
e-gads, where u from again?

Yeah, yeah I live on Mars. Jeez. What's wrong with Dakota's? They're beautiful, (unlike the NEW rams...eww), plenty of power and they have a good warrenty. And don't tell me that they've got a bad reputation, because Mazda doesn't exactly have one either...
