I agree, the sliding console breaks easily, I have done so.. Also, the tracks get gunked up if liquids spill on them via the cup holders..

As far as the rear windows. I have no problems opening and closing them by hand while in the Driver's seat. I do need to unbuckle and lean over/back to get the passenger's one.. but I can get the driver's side one while driving if I have to.

It also feels flimsy and somewhat cheap in construction. I've read a number of posts where the latch does not hold up very well, and I am not looking forward to the inevitable demise and replacement. Also, if you do use the cup holder to hold a bottled water or what-ever, 2nd, 4th, and 6th gear will find your elbow smacking into either them or the edge of the seat.

The Rear Wing Windows: Yes, they open, but it would have been nice if you could do so from the cockpit. If you are driving with the windows down, opening the side wing windows cuts down a little on the cabin noise, and gives the air a clean path to enter and exit the car. But, you have to do this ahead of time.

There are 3 homelink buttons for various reasons:
1. You have multiple garage doors.
2. You live in a gated community- 1 button for the front gate/1 button for garage door.
3. You can buy an adapter at Home Depot that allows you to plug lamps, TV's, or maybe even your margarita blender into it. You can then turn on or off that item with your homelink or garage door opener.
4. Plus my dealer told me if you hold down the middle homelink button you will gain 20hp.

Wow, I wonder what the range is. I bet I could have it blended by the time I get out of the car

Can I say hello??

Just had our first RX last week, and its an absolute stunner.

I get the feeling that they are still pretty exclusive in most countries, and since having ours we've only seen half a dozen or so and we live in a fairly big city by UK standards.

I did smile today though, when a car flashed me and it didnt hit me at first why...............but then I realised what he was driving!!

The thread about the little things is wonderful. We find ourselves looking out for them and agreeing. The car is certainly an eyecatcher that I just love driving. Pity we have so many speed cameras about!

Welcome aboard, Romeo! Just would like to pass along our thoughts and prayers for your countrymen today. Moronic acts like what occured again today always give us pause and certainly put a damper on enjoying the good things in life...like driving an RX-8.

Along4theride, great writing. I look forward to your ongoing contributions.

As mentioned above, some of us do use all 3 homelink buttons. (home, office, second home, etc - I could easily use a couple more)

On the subject of speed, I totally agree. On the road, no matter where, no matter what time of day, there will almost always be someone ahead of you limiting your enjoyment of your 8. I sometimes find myself going through interchanges multiple times to get a clear road ahead (or sometimes speeding to get to an exit ramp ahead of the line of SUVs and minivans - admit it- we all do this)

That's why man invented duct tape, the ultimate tool in auto modifications! Or if you're going for that stock look, use a clear packing tape, no one will ever notice it from outside the car and they will be wowed by your uber mad skillz at the track, y0.

Thanks for your kind thoughts.

Things like that certainly made me stop and think.
