2 Renisis Engines...?
I was thinking the other day, and I'm sure someone's already thought of this, but, if I sick amounts of money, I'd play around with the idea of two renisis engines, either, one for the front and one for the back, or one for each wheel in the back.
there smaller than normal engines so you could do this right?
i'm sure there are a slew of problems that would arise, I thought i've heard of some there car that had two engines...can't remember.

If 1 Renesis engines gets you 18 mpg and 220 hp, does 2 get you 9 mpg and 440 hp? A turbo just seems so much easier. You'd also need twice the cooling and add twice the weight so you wouldn't be twice as fast. It would be cool though!

then again, many of the new hybrid vehicles are 4 wheel drive with the front and rear wheels driven by a combination of two motors...either the electric motor driving the front and the gas motor driving the rear, or vice versa...

yea ... i seem to remember reading about a concept Mitsubishi Eclipse having AWD with gas engine but also an electric motor for the back end to give an extra kick. I know I know ... old news.
oh here's the link

Mmmm ... can't wait for the hydrogen rx8 ... or at least a hybrid (for better gas mileage). Oh well ... a guy can dream

wat about just combine the 2 engine. that's way better. and easier.. if u going to put one in front and one in back. u got a long way to mod. and u got a nasty business with transmission.
make a 4R renisis is cool enough. but if i were u and got enough money to mod a car like this.(it's maybe will cost 30~40K)i guess. i will like to sell my 8 and buy a Zo6 and mod with a superchager ... and boost it up to 600hp. i think that's almost the same. and.. maybe more stable. and..

A coworker had one of those, but he said it was very unreliable. That is why he sold it and bought a viper, something with that much hp stock is what he was looking for. However I would love a ported NA 20B or the likes just for my engine. If I had to combine two, I would probably do a ported 24A :D.

Yes, but you couldn't seat 4. Same thing for the Viper post below the quoted thread. We really need to talk apples to apples. The 8 seats 4 very comfortably, and yes I've sat in the back. I actually did it before I bought the car. It was a dealer killer. I would not have bought the 8 if it was a 2+2. It's not, it's a true 4-seater!

Two engines not only requires more parts, but adds significant weight and uselessness of the car. It's nice idea in its simplicity, but when you combine thermal efficiency, mechanical efficiency, materials, etc., you get a whole mess of parameters that can easily squash that dream. For reality's sake, let's stick to forced induction, nitrous, or displacement increase.

I think there was a car at Sevenstock 2 years ago that had 2 motors. The 2nd worked similar to displacement on demand. I believe it was fabbed into a Kudzu chassis and was still a work in progress. I'll have to try and trudge up my photos from back then...

I'd never consider something like this for practical use, just experimentation, and fun, if I had whackloads of money to blow.
I figured that the renisis would have a slight advantage over other engines because of it's size/horsepower output, 2 1.3litres = 2.6litres of rotary power.... yummy.
per litre I don't think theres much that can compete with the renisis.

The weight and size of the second engine really wouldn't be a problem, heat is, and you would be more able to get the speed and performance you dream of with this idea than with a piston engine, even an aluminum piston engine. How would we (As a forum I think we could figure this out just in case Gates or Trump is a secret member of the forum) get the power to the front wheels? Can the engine and transmission be turned around, or the engine turned sideways with a tranny from some other front engine car like most of the import cars have them? I know the engine is lightweight and small, but how much frame modification would have to be made to support the new engine and transmission placement? It would take a lot of time and money but I think it'd be fun to watch when finished! And when the turbo or supercharger stuff is figured out you can upgrade!!!
