I just got mine 2 weeks ago i could not be more pleased, 54K, go by dealer w/VIN make sure all updates (pcm's) are done, 6 spd only way to go, unless you need the auto then ask around. All i have read on this forum has been very helpful, i was just looking, then became intrigued, then i bought, then i grinned and still am...

You are the other extreme, I'm sorry to hear about you having so many problems. Yes there are problem children out there, unfortunately you got one. Others have no problems. I consider coils and plugs (and maybe the clutch) as normal maintenance items but all the other stuff is unfortunate.

I disagree. There are lots of us around here that have had multiple problems with out 2004's.
You buy an 04 car and you are taking your chances. I wqould never buy a first year model car without warranty.

I agree about the clutch, plugs, and coils being maintenance. 90% of the rest was covered under warranty. I enjoy all aspects of this car from driving enthusiastically down back roads to spending hours on the forums diagnosing issues.
