in the US there are a bunch of Mazdaspeed parts available, there is a body kit and wing, brake pads, cat backs, flywheel, some "cf" bits for the interior, and wheels.

the exterior parts used to come painted, so it might have been dealer installed.

those wheels are nice though! they were like $600 each!

Hi, you have the MS kit fitted to your ride. Only a total of 600 MS RX8 were made and all was sold in Japan. What you have is the GENUINE MS added equipment (same as mine but in strato blue) oh, the MS-01s were optional extra. Do you know if your exhaust is a MS.

It has a full greddy catback so I dono what the ms exhaust was but I dont think it can sound better than that hahah. Im just curious how expensive the full kit is and those rims since I hear they are pretty hard to get

im having an interesting read on this forum. I recently saw a TikTok calling this particular vehicle a lost car

https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRopAhHH/
2nd slide if your interested^^

I have a few questions about it if anyone is still even active.

Was this vehicle even real? Was it a concept? If so, why did Mazda sell the parts to the concept if no vehicle like it ever existed. I’ve seen talk about it just being body kits, but why? I’ve also seen some threads about it being a car in Japan. Was it never sold in America. I can never seem to find a straight answer.

Why did Mazda, ever short on cash, not make a limited high performance edition of an already low-volume car and instead market the aero and suspension upgrade parts to RX-8 owners? Hmmmmm!

You can make your own Mazdaspeed RX-8 out of the parts any time. Well, you could 15 years ago when parts were available anyway.

Back in the day I remember US dealers outfitting brand new cars for their showrooms with full Mazdaspeed kits. Imo, it's kind of a grey area as they were dealership factory installed parts but no with special vin, limited model or identifier.

It definitely would've been cool if Mazda offered a dedicated "Mazdspeed RX-8" like they did with the protege, miata, 3, and 6 but the market just wasn't there for auto sales or parts.
