2004 MT 6 speed GT 79k close to me
There is a 04 MT GT with 79k for sale locally (Northern Indiana) at a car lot. This is not my car but I seen it and it's pretty clean. Black cherry color paint, tinted windows, 18 or 19" black/polished mb racing wheels. Clean leather seats, Bose. They have it for sale at $6900 can probably be bought for way less.
If anyone is interested I can get some pics and test drive to see if it's even worth your time.
I can get vin# so you can do some investigating with carfax or Mazda N.A. to find out car history.
I can also ask if it has had a recent compression test.
Again this is not my car I just seen it on my way to work and looked clean so I thought I would let fellow members know.

I have a 2005 6MT and, as I've said many times before on here, after driving at least 18 to 22 cars/trucks (rentals, test drives, friends' cars, etc.), haven't found a newer car that I like as much as my RX-8 for anything less than for around 50k.
I think cars peaked in overall goodness between 2002 (Acuras) and 2008, depending on manufacturer.
Many of the new BMWs, Audis, Lexi, etc. have standard 4 cylinder motors in place of 6 cylinder motors (BMW went to a much worse 4 banger from their prior excellent inline 6), interior quality took a step back, and many new cars can't even be had with a true manual transmission anymore.
I honestly think I'm going to replace my current RX-8 with a newer model RX-8 for these reasons when the miles rack up too high.
And by the way, my 8 has been tied as the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned with a 1994 Civic EX 5MT that I drove throughout undergrad and graduate school.
The only thing I've done to my 8 is regular maintenance (brake pads, oil changes every 3k with topping off at all times, spark plugs/coils, coolant flush & fills).
I sort of regret not buying a new 2011 when they were still available on dealer lots, but then again, I actually prefer the Series I looks.
The 8 is a total sleeper of a sports car given its low price, amazing handling/ride quality combo, utility (with useable back seat and trunk), refinement, etc.
I rented a Cadillac ATS 2.0T for a week that was total POS and that retails for close to 45k new that the RX-8 embarrasses in every way.
The only new car with a manual transmission that I actually liked given the price was the new for 2015 Volkswagen GTI, but its far more refined and less raw than prior GTIs, almost to the point of being too tamed.

There is no link to car, I can go take a few pics and find out some more info if you would like. I can see if the car lot has a website maybe it's on there.
I will probably be able to give you better and more reliable info since I know what to look for when buying an 8.
The odds of them having recent compression test #'s are slim unless it's had problems and been to a Mazda dealer.

Sorry it is red was kinda dark the first time I went to see it. I went and really looked at car today.
Mechanical wise started right up idled well after being fully warmed up, and started right back up being warm.
Several recall stickers under hood including pcm reflash.
Transmission and clutch felt normal no excessive noise from pilot bearing. (I've drove 3 MT 8's and I'm glad I have an AT that clutch pedal sucks stiffer than either Rx7 I own).
The rest of the car is decent not perfect.
Body and paint 7.5-8/10 no rust, interior is ok only seen small spot on passenger seat. Fan speed **** was the only thing I seen missing.
I honestly don't think it's a bad car, and could probably be bought for between $5500-$6k.
