2004 Rx upgrade to 2009?

Hey guys pretty new here a local introduced me to this site.

Back to the point own an 04' with 76k miles. Should I wait for the new upcoming 16x rotary or just buy an 09'? By the looks of some threads my engine is not to last so long. Glad to mention its still the original.

I believe the 09 or rx-8 MKII should have the 13b with extra injectors. a search can confirm.

OP...what makes you think your engine is on it's way out? Are you having issues with it? I have an '04 6spd with 78k miles and expect at least another 78k still to come. Of course, my Reni hasn't given me any reason to doubt that, yet.

Engine runs smooth just like when I got it. The only fail it gave me was when I did not let it run for a while when I first got it. Dealership guys were not too happy about this.

I took it to get appraised by carmax and a mazda dealership. Sad to say you guys were on the money about it. The money I get is not worth it

This new 16x anybody have an inside about the release date? I saw a thread on here with some guys working at a rotary rebuild facility. No info though
