2005 info from MNAO
Just got this today:
Pricing for 2005-model base models increased by $195, factory packages will have a small increase ranging from $100 on the Sports package to $250 on the Grand Touring package.
With the exception of a few minor changes for 2005, the MAZDA RX-8 maintains the same winning lineup that made it such a smashing success in 2004. Here’s what’s new:
• Sirius satellite radio-compatible audio system on all models (requires dealer installed hardware, and Sirius radio subscription, beginning with late July production)
• Due to strong demand from our customers Whitewater Pearl is added for 2005.
• Lightning Yellow has been deleted from the color palette

It didn't say anthing about that for the RX-8 but did say this for the Miata.
• A Retractable Key replaces the traditional key across the lineup
Not sure if "across the lineup" meant just the Miata lineup or the entire Mazda range.

I mean, I know there are people that want this car in white, but I can't see that being more popular than the mica blue for example.
No offense to others, but I don't understand what the appeal of White is, at least not on a sports car. I mean, after all, White isn't even a color!

Italy = Red

Japan = White
The Formula 1 Hondas of the 60's were painted in white. Thus, white is always a favorite in Japan.

I don't like white. They may as well bring it out in brown if they are going to do that. The 3rd generation RX-7 was only offered in yellow in '93. After that is was also discontinued and replaced with dull, ugly, boring on a sports car white.

Not only is it not a sports car color, it isn't actually a color at all! (White is the absence of all color)
I bet anything that stratus blue mica would be the best selling color on the 8!
