I think white is the worst color you can put on a car. Spicy Orange or some kind of burnt orange like the Z has would have been a much better choice to replace yellow or even the dark green. Really I would rather have anything than white.

Sorry, I cannot discuss where I got this information, just to say that it is from a reliable source within Mazda. :D
There will be only ONE change to the 2005 RX-8: The color Lightning Yellow has been discontinued. In it's place will be "Glacier White" instead. So those of you who have LY cars (or have your eye on one) this color will become a collector's color, which is what Mazda wants.

I don't think that would work. It would look as bad as those Mary Kay kars.

It would absolutely "amaze" me that the ONLY change to the upcoming 2005 RX8 would be a color change, especially given all of the MazdaSpeed parts that are already in the marketplace.
If this is true, then I would have to bet that an incredible amount of work is going into a MazdaSpeed RX8 version that will be due out in the Spring of 2005, with more displacement, another rotor, or perhaps supercharged.
In the meantime, I hear that a MazdaSpeed 6 will debut before the MazdaSpeed RX8 with all-wheel drive and a 280HP engine. Stay tuned!

I know the concept Mazdaspeed 6 had AWD and 280HP--but Mazda is stingy on HP so I'll be pleasantly surprised if it makes it into production in that form--my guess is simple bolt ons and majority suspension/handling components.

Omicron, you have to give me more than that. I was holding out for a yellow 2005 in case they gave 8-way power seat to cloth. If yellow is going to be discontinued, then I would seriously consider buying now. How do I know you're telling the truth? What about future accessories for lightning yellow?

Now all you have to do is keep the miles low. Good luck with that one. Their are stock 93 CYM with only 30k miles. I think it would be really hard for you guys to keep the miles that low because you love driving the 8 so much. Good luck!

Wow, away with yellow? Though I think the RX8 in White looks
better than most sports cars, and I was just starting to like the
yellow.. But I would have to wait until the veh comes out to
check out the white.. but in CO there are so many white cars,
and we have snow.. never figured out the attraction, but wont
judge until we see it in the flesh, so to speak.

hm.. imo, i dislike any sort of white colored car. Maybe it's because that's the only color my family owns, but it doesn't appeal to me.
i loved the x-men blue, which is i think the mica blue color. i think mazdaspeed has this color? (not sure)
i'd rather have dark blue than the winner blue.
