2005 RX-8 improvements? bug fixes? will there be any?
2005 RX-8 improvements? bug fixes? will there be any?
I am thinking of waiting to buy my RX-8 if there will be enough to warrant the wait. I have not been able to find one shred of info on when they will be on the showroom floor, or what if any improvements will be in the 2005 year model. I even called the Mazda USA headquarters in southern California, I was put on hold on my dime for 15 minutes (no 800 number, cheapskates!) then some numnut comes on and knows nothing...I just said thanks and goodbye.
Anybody heard anything????

If it were me, I wouldn't wait. I doubt that there are going to be any significant changes for several years.

The 2005 RX-8 will be available in white. Yellow will be discontinued. It was be making 247 horsepower (at the wheels, no less) and will get close to 30mpg. Wheel-hop will be non-existant, and the flooding issue will fixed.
The 2005 Mazdaspeed will use a 3-rotor, turbocharged version of the renesis. Abel Ibarra said during testing he was running mid 7's in the quarter with an intake, exhaust, and ground strap. California models may be detuned slightly.

I know. Hence me asking.
Imagine : Dual quad rotor engines (one for the front wheels and one for the rear wheels), Quad turbo charger (2 for each engine), some big *** blow-off valve, and 1mpg fuel effeciency.

Is this for real, or just a cruel joke?

Because there's a bunch of prior threads that you've not bothered to read, the other posters in this thread are yanking your chain - joking.

Gordon,
Thank you for giving it to me straight. I am new to this sort of web dialogue and this site is somewhat complex in my opinion. I kinda figured some of the replies were put-ons. The color thing is no issue because I've decided on silver with the red/black interior. Iam sorry to have made a thread on this issue when there were others addressing the same question, with so many I just did not bother to look too hard. Your last reply has pushed me over the decision edge, I will be going to order my RX-8 this Sunday. Thanks again Gordon....Thom

You can't go wrong. If you really dont mind some of the issues (MPG,HP,A/C,Tranny noise) you will Love this car. I have loved mine in spite of the problems.
