Hi all, new member here. I've finally decided to buy an 8, so I went to my nearest dealer Almaden Mazda, in San Jose, CA. Wanted to see how low they would go on an '04 6MT Sport Package, and I used S-Plan pricing as leverage.

Anyway, I didn't drive home in a new 8, but I did spot a brand spanking new 2005 6MT Grand Touring on their lot, still with the white body panel stickers & plastic wrap over the seats. As far as I could tell, it looked just like the '04 sitting next to it, but with 2005 marked on the window sticker. Hope this means you guys with the '05s on order get them soon!

It was Titanium Grey. I didn't catch the VIN or build date though. Salesman said it had just been delivered, so unless the window sticker was a mistake, I don't have reason to believe he was lying.

 

There isn’t much that will distinguish the new year model except for a color change and maybe satellite radio....

 

went to browning mazda tonight and didnt see any 05s

 

I got the 04 already.. I won't that nutty change the car for the cool key.I mean the cool key of 05.
but... I guess we will mean on the sevenstock show.. cuz i will be there.

If you want the cool key, you can get them at the parts counter at any decent Mazda dealer (meaning the cool key with the rotary emblam). They should be able to order it, and 'attune' it to your 8. Not sure how much they cost though. I think replacement keys for the '04 cost about 45-50 US.

 

the 2005's come with a new retractable key that is also the car alarm remote in one.

 

Ooo... didn't know that one.. I thought it was the standard key with the rotary end instead of the standard key.. Wonder if you can get those new keys programmed for the '04. Anyone know?

 

Welcome to the cult. It would be nice to have the 2005 model, but I already have the 04'. Now that I think about it, I do want the satellite radio; the radio stations in Houston suck, except for KTSU (sometimes) and KUHF (also sometimes).
