however, in most places they aren't as common as the first or second gen rx7s, (SA? FB, and FC - not too sure about the SA thing, is that the right model name?)
hope that clears things up....
..better yet, the picture should help. That's an FD

FD Body Styling
I don't see why they can't just bring back the RX-7 on the new platform and keep the FD body style. It still looks better than any new car available. Plus think of the design budget they would save. I can't think of a single reason not to use the FD body.

I love the front end design - looks like a little blend of the RX-8 and the RX-evolv ...
I cropped out the Supra IMHO it's just not in the same league

Look at it. Now look at it again.
Does that smoke the 350Z or what? It has the body configuration identifiable as a Mazda(with a very thin 5-point grille) and the aerowave bubble roof or channels. It could use a more "swoopy" door line along the veins of FD and Miata heritage. We'll see what transpires with the "concept car" at the auto shows in a couple weeks. If those openings in the snout suffice for cooling, it's going to rock my world, and most likely many of us. I hear the 'Vette has similar styling(of course).

check out www.rotarynews.com for the latest in the scams and rumor department.. Dan has a nice little gallery somewhere onthe site of all the "myth" RX-7s ....
None of the pictures shown will probably even come close to the final "possible" production model.
