Perhaps Unemployed Pimples likes gay sites because he also has a bit of Perv in him? :D :D

yeah, i LOOOVE that picture... that thing looks exactly the way it should from the side... but that front end, holy christ ... the back is nice though... and interiors, well, *shrug* just an interior... some people are awfully fickle, and i s'pose i am too, but i don't have a problem with it.

in anycase, i still hate that car only because of the front...

FWIW - I remember general reaction to the RX-Evolv frontend carried with it similar responses... most of the time of concept cars the front and the rears are the most drastic points of change... the silhouette treatment is usually what stays with us.. let us hope for the GT-Rs sake.. it follows suit.

I might be the only one - but I actually liked the front end of the RX-Evolve (almost better than the curent RX-8 - almost)!

Especially the front lights and how it followed the front wheel-side air vent.

I agree with most of what wakeech says about the "concept skyline coupe" - execpt I don't hate it, but I do like it better than the new 350Z - But I like the front of the G35 coupe much better!

Still, I prefer the RX-8 is style!

His nickname on this board is Unemployed Pimples and I was suggesting that you don't take him seriously because he is this board's resident L'Enfant Provocateur.

Have I ever posted anything that would make you think I would call you names? You may be a bit defensive being a 350z guy on an RX-8 forum but not everyone is out to get you... You do mount a good defense against imagined attacks though.

Buger,

My bad man --- I guess in the future I should pay more attention to who is saying what. I just assumed you were talking to me. No harm done.

About the front end of the GTR concept --- that seems to be the main criticizm of the car, and something I'm sure Nissan will address. Personally, I hope its the only thing they change. Being a GTR it needs a wing on the back, and some of you may have noticed that it doesn't have one like the previous gens, but on the concept they showed a retractable spoiler thats initiated at a certain speed -- like some of the Porsches running around.

Heres another (extremely rough) chop job of the concept. It gives you an idea of what the concept would look like with more of the traditional Skyline front end:

I don't know about you but that FMIC in its teeth gives me the chills.......

Cool I'm not worthy

I am sorry, but that new Skyline is shaping up to be a ridiculous car. The lines of it are simply amazing. I do not think there is a tougher more menacing looking car out there that can match this.
A couple of things though.

A. Keep the four separate taillights, they are what make the Skyline a Skyline. Although those on the G35 Coupr's are nice, I would consider it a cop out.

B. I like the two tone paint personally. I think it visually pulls the car closer to the ground.

All in all, if I had $60,000 burning a hole in my pocket :D

the only thing that resembles the GT-rs of the past to me are the tails (big fat obvious one there!:D ) and the front end. I thought it sorta went along the same features from the gt-rs (well the r-34 at least)

however i do like the gauge system! that's pretty damn cool, and futuristic-looking. Definately matches the rest of the car.... i wonder if it flies too?!? LOL

have any one seen the real GT-R "R35" pix??

I liked those versions as well, but if rumours are true that's nothing like what the next GTR will be. That was an early photoshopped image before Nissan released the information on their concept. The first pictures I was posting on this thread were the official concept pics released be Nissan. I'm not saying that the production car will resemble the concept exactly, but it will continue along those lines. The only changes Nissan has mentioned is to tone down the front and interior. I think we'll have to wait until the end of this year to hear/see any updates. I don't know about all of you but I dig that digital speedo. Word is that they've opted to run a version of the Z's VQ under the hood, and although I'm a fan of the VQ, I wish they'd stick with something that would be able to hold more power, like the old RB engines that help make Godzilla the beast it is. The VQ uses an alluminum block instead of the RB's Iron -- probably not as boost friendly. I'm sure Cosworth will do a great job tuning the engine, but I don't think that the R35 GTR will be able to hold as much power as the previous gens. It should still be a pretty sweet car out of the box though.

unless the VQ can make up for that power loss with revs, it's a sad day that the old RB26 gets put out to pasture... let's not forget that other RB classic, the RB20... sweet fourbanger...

oh, and Cosworth is tuning Nissan engines now, for production cars??? weird...

This may be the worst idea in the world, but I think I'll risk it.

How do you guys think the next generation of high end sports cars (i.e. rx7, gtr, "supra", redisigned mustang cobra, new corvette, etc.) will stack up against one another?

What I fear is that this will turn into a b.s. shouting match so if you guys have any comments, please use examples, proof, etc. w/ links if possible.

Now lets get ready to ruuummmmbbbbllle....
