2006

How many club's members changed the engine for their 2006 - 2008 RX8? But for 2004-2005?

Why makes no sense?
Suppose you have a car with no warranty, will you keep it when you know everybody changed the engine?
So, this statistic help me to decide if it is ok to keep a RX8 with no warranty, even if it is a 2006.

Im an 04 original engine.. so asking this is not going to go well. It has to many conditions that may affect the results whether it be bad plug, etc..

This thread's question is miss-guided I think.. it should be, how many engines has everyone gone through so far?

How many engines did you change? Three? In how many miles? Under 100k, no?

I think guys, you are afraid to see the true.
Our car is very sexy, but the quality of engine is a crap.

quality no...I have 77k on my baby with the original engine with no problems what so ever.

Just to let you know all engines fail at some point in time regardless of the make or model.

As long as you do proper maintenance then you should be fine. Not to mention there is the 8yr 100k warranty out on the engine so its not even that big of a deal

To sum up some of the points made already, because you're not getting it:

1. The info you are looking for is already out there. Go find it, cuz its not going to come find you.

2. There are a lot of factors that go in to how long your engine will last, and this engine needs more/diferent care than most, but should last if properly maintained.

There you answered your own question. Its not the right answer, but oh well. Get rid of the car!

I have one of the first 8's in my area.. original engine.. although i have fairly low miles. Where are you basing your opinion on?
What you said is strictly based on general public hearsay. What happens when you sell something with different/unique engine to mass public? 75% or more drivers neglect their cars and problems spreads from there.

We have a large group of gearheads here that are way beyond 100k on original engine. This is a public forum for tech, info, and etc. If you have nothing of value to say you are free to not respond.

What does the rx8 generally go through when you get it serviced? I'm not a owner of one yet but I do plan on getting one. I know a person who doesnt like the rx8 just "because the engine sucks".
How much does getting your rx8 srrvices cost.
