Interesting stuff. Why does the Phantom Blue look like blue greenish? I thought the Phantom blue was like the x-men blue? Kinda crazy. Anyways, yeah, they still need to finish it up. Cant get pass the color stage when building the rx8.

 

y did the AT get more hp? y didnt they do the same with the 6spd?

 

I could build all the way through my car and get to the print out page when I tried. I am slightly irritated that the fender strakes are available to be ordered on the car when you buy it. It wasn't listed when I ordered mine months ago, so I had to order those separately for my car, so they are sitting in the sales manager's office at this time to be put on my car when it gets there. Meanwhile, in the accessories list the fender strakes are $250. On the options page for building they are $260. Strange.

The Phantom Blue I have seen in person on a 5 is blue with this green glow on top of it.

The AT has more HP because it got the bigger engine and is now a six speed. The MT is still the same engine and everything. That is the only difference and why the AT has more HP.

To make up for the Turbos they will be useing when the do the MS RX-8!

 

The price came out exactly the same on my 06 as it did when I built it as an 05, just like MNAO told me it would. The base price of the MT went down a little and some of the package/accessory prices went up. Mine worked out to be exactly the same.

 

Exactly, why in the world did the accesory packages go up? The price on options for this car is priced so high, were dealing with a Mazda not a Ferrari. I was quoted from my dealer $2k and change just for the MS front end......jeesh.

 

I LOVE the copper red color!!!

The Phantom Blue looks like the official RX8 of the Miami Dolphins. While I love my Fins, I don't think I'd get a car in their colors. The orange turn signal futher Dolphinizes the Phantom Blue "aka green" color.

Did I forget to say I LOVE COPPER RED....

 

Almost looks like the new C6 copper color. Has more hint of red in it than the copper color on the Z. Shows the lines on the 8 better, which is nice.....

As much as i love the colors, i am really starting to develop a love fore these cars!

I like the fact that the 'Shinka' is an option package instead of a RX8 'model' for 2006......it's makes the 2005 that much more special. Not to mention that now the Shinka can come in any color for 2006. Granted the Copper red is only available with the 'Shinka' package......but the 'Shinka' can be ordered in 4 colors.

 

They now have leather/alacantra seating surfaces. Im jealous. I wish that was an option when I got mine.

Have you seen it in person yet? I saw the leather/alacantra at NAIAS and I like the 2005 Shinka leather seats better.

I'm getting the snowflake white pearl.

I really like this car in white, I think you can see the lines of the body better in the lighter colors. Plus, I've been in a four-year lease with a black car with black leather interior and am sick of only being able to keep it clean for approximately two hours!

 

actually, the X-Men RX-8 color is called 'Mutant Blue' in official press release by Mazda... it's a bit more metallic and bluer than Strato Blue Mica....

 

Still can't get Navi in the Shinka, stupid! I would get a Shinka if I could get Navi . . . makes no sense that you can not opt for it!

 

I considered the Shinka package option when I ordered mine a few months back but then was told Shinka option wasn't available for Winning Blue and then I was told it couldn't have Navigation, which is necessary for my government stuff. Apparently it's hard to be a glorified delivery person if you have no idea where you're going.

 

I still wish I could get one in pink!!!!

If I had oodles of money I could get it repainted pink and I bet I'd have the only one!!!!
