2006 RX-8 now up on Mazda website!!!

Just for the info about the port. The port for Mazda is in Port Hueneme Naval Base in Ventura County Ca. I go there every day and yes ther are a "few" RX8 sitting there. I might seen some of yours. They do leave on trucks. The cars are delivered to the dealers that sales more RX-8 than other also. But yeah we get some cars here faster than others.
Now I have a question about HP # from Mazda. Is our cars (05 and below) rated at 238 hp or 232 like the Mazda site says for the 06?

They would be 232. The only thing that changed is the system that rates it, so it shows lower than it did before even though nothing else is different. Just the test. They could make up a new test that rated it at 2 and it would still have the same performance. It's just the test system.

I think fourflush is going to beat you, me too, probably. He knows for sure his is at port. My dealer, I've noticed, is pretty lazy and doesn't do much unless I call him and bug him repeatedly. I know mine listed as shipped but supposedly has a "parts availability" issue so they said it is going to be a little slower than expected.
I am making an effort to avoid trying to ask or get called until after I find out about a new job.

I LOVE the new galaxy gray and copper red! Wow! I really like those a lot more. Especially the new gray. The old one wasn't dark enough for me. This one is much better. Still, black remains the best.

I've seen the Copper Red on a Tribute, but it was getting dark outside so not a very good perspective on the color. They had an 05 RX-8 at the Portland autoshow that the Mazda rep kept saying was an 06 even after I pointed out to her what was wrong with it. I was so happy to prove her and everyone else wrong when we looked at the door sticker and it was built in November 04.

I'm sweating this 2006 thing...the 2006 is right around the corner...but i'm assuming that the nav will lock itself out while driving, rendering it useless! But, it's an 06!
It takes voice commands...but does it take them while driving? Does it block text entry from the joystick, but allow voice commande? Who knows...
I think i might have to suck it up and get an 05...shoulda purchased last year, DOH!

Are you sure the 2006 has a voice command navigation? A true voice command system allows all instructions to be 'spoken' making the buttons redundant.

mazdausa > rx8 > tour > interior > navigation system > demo > system overview > "With voice activation, just tell the system where you want to go - an address, a tourist attraction, even the nearest gas station."
The voice commands don't really make a physical imput device redundant...voice remains a "soft input"(high error probability), while a joystick is a "hard input"(low error probability)...systems will continue to have both input methods for quite some time.

I didn't know that about the navigation system offered in the 2006 RX8.....thanks for the info.
