I was in a doctor's office today and saw the new October issue of Car and Driver, and they had the usual annual roundup of 2006 model year changes for all of the car companies.

For Mazda, aside from the new MX-5, (which got a nice review in the same ish) they reported no changes, save an "updated RX-8 early next year."

They provided no specifics on what "updates" there would be.

Tantalizing, but there it is.

I have been avidly following the thread, but I would like to see something official from Mazda. I hope they do more than just add one color and beef up the automatic, desirable as that might be.

 

that is the official information from Mazda as posted by one of the Managers at the Biggest Mazda dealership in Texas and nearly(if not actually) the entire US.
Please call the customer assisstance line for your self- 1-800-222-5500 if you still do not believe it is the official information. There may be more later but that is all there is for the beginning of the Model Year.
