2006 year made Rx-8

I'm about to buy one but I can't decide which one, there are two cars one is 2006 year made( I saw it from the paper over the windshield) and the other one is 40th yaer ann. edition. Both the cars are brand new and I like 2006 year one more but is there any difference between these two about the flooding issue or any technical problems , Please help me immediately because I have to decide right away...

40th Ann cars are 08 not 06. If the 06 is new make sure that all TSBs are completed and I would request replacement of all tires, belts, hoses and fluids before taking it.

They still have a brand new '06 on the lot? You sure it's brand new?

i guess it just depends on what you want. you'll be paying quite a bit more for the 40AE than you will for the 06. the dealer should be able to tell you if any work was performed on either. are you sure the 06 doesnt have 17,00 kilometers? 17km is quite low. its like the car got pushed to the back of the lot and forgotten about..for three years..

it is 17 , it is not registered so it cannot be used in traffic, and yes it is staying in the same place for 3 years does that do any harm?

I doubt the dealer will agree to new tires & hoses but maybe they will and just put the old tires on some other car.

Do you like the new style wheels and exterior and interior colors on the 40th anniversary? Pretty classy IMHO. It also has the foam filled front cross member. Not sure if anyone can really feel the difference of that. Bilstein shocks. The ride of the 40th might be a little tighter.

What's the price difference between the two?

I own a 40th anniversary edition. Every time i get into it i get to experience the thrill of driving a limited production car.

If you're going to be keeping the car for a long time, Get the 40th anniversary.

If you're going to keep it for short-term or put parts on it, get the '06.

You want to request the new tires because the ones that the car have been sitting on for 3 years have flat spotted and you won't be able to fix that with normal driving. If the dealer refused to replace the tires I would refuse to do business with them. As for hoses and belts. Belts would go through the same thing as the tires by not running and they will have a kink in them. They also would have started to dry up just sitting there which will lead to premature failure. Same goes for the hoses. All of these things should be handled under a warranty repair for the dealer so they really shouldn't care.

odd that mazda would delete cruise. i would opt for the 40AE just because of its rarity. it would be a good car to hang onto. i have a 10th Anniversary RX-7 and really feel great having a limited production car that i restored myself http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=720132. something that not many people have.. i like that.
