2007 or 2008 RX8

the 07 has a lot of minor improvements that the 04's and 05's don't, such as a redesigned crank case vent, and an improved clutch bracket.
I'd say that the newer ones are more reliable, but not significantly so. The 07's still have the same major flaws the 04's do, its the minor things they fixed.
Automatic transmission should be counted as a flaw. The only way to truly enjoy the 8 for the engineering marvel it is, is with a manual transmission. If you just like the looks and don't care about power or handling the auto will do just fine.

Yeah, I just want to talk about RX8... and maybe could you send my your bank account number? I know this rich prince who just died and I need an account to send the money to in order to avoid taxes in my native country....

i bought my early run 2007 in January 07. It had been with the dealer for three months; MY07 Phantom Blue, xenons, DSC, 18" wheels and a six speed. No sunroof, leather or premium sound. I was OTD for 24,000. Phantom blue is 06-07 only. If you buy an 08 you can get the "40th anniversary" edition. I'm not in love with it tho. If you wait til '09 you will be able to get a R3.
