Because I'm not buying any RX-8. I am buying MY RX-8, exactly the way I want color-options-accessories etc. There werent any available in my area for the setup I wanted. If I'm going to spend $35K on a car, I'm gonna get exactly what I want.
BTW, 07 is not more expensive. I got the 06 prices, as a matter of fact its cheaper because they added 6 CD changer standard in the GT.

Well technically it is $1500-2000 or so more but that's splitting hairs a bit. Now if you had ordered the tan interior on a stormy blue I could completely understand since that ws not available on an 06.

So what timeframe from order to deliver are we talking about, 6 weeks, 8 weeks?
I was just at a dealer a couple of hours ago and had to walk. The price on the car was good at $200 below invoice (not including incentives) but they were giving me crap on my trade 1k below trade-in value. This one also has about 215 miles on it which has me concerned and it has about $700 in options I don't want. So that got me thinking the price would be the same with incentives (not using financing one) as it would to order a standard 07 GT with the options I want (I looked at a Copper Red Shinka).
I may explore ordering a 2007 and see what I can do on price.

NM, I called a dealer and it could be as much as 4 months unless they have one more or less configured the way I want in their existing allocation.

For 2007, what's the difference between a Touring and a Grand Touring? The preliminary specs I got showed no difference. But I am sure there is.
Never mind. I found it.

Yes its true. 4700 cars were dammaged, 11 of them were from my dealer and ofcourse one of the 11 cars was mine.
But my dealer has already jumped on this soon as she got the news, they have already started to build my replacement car. And now I will get it in mid october instead of september.
I was a little depressed when I heard the news but I'm not really too upset and I'm very impressed the way my dealer handled this situation. She's really great.
